what did he do against Millwall or Doncaster? Or what did he do before before and during Portsmouth away? He had a good 3 month but that's all. He wasn't has good as Jacob Butterfield or Daniel Drinkwater and IMO James O'brien. He was a confidence player and still is. He came on and changed the game against Leeds but he wasn't even a starter in that game and Leeds took out Barnsley best player. If Vaz Te was playing for Barnsley after January we wouldn't have been as good because he wouldn't have played with one of the best midfield's out side of Upton Park. He's a confidence player and so his Davies, When the teams full of confidence they look very good but has we've seen with Davies he's not been the same since Butterfield got injured and the confidence was took out of the Barnsley team.
So let me get this right. One player who had a good 3 months for us but a few anonymous games isn't as good as 2 other players who have also only had a good 3 months for us, also with their fair share of anonymous games. And saying O'Brien was as good as him is a joke. I'm a big fan of Jimbo's but he's nowhere near in the same league. How do you know it's the fact that Butterfield's been injured that's affected Davies and not the absence of Vaz Te or Mr Daniel Noel Drinkwater esq? 12 starts, 10 sub appearances 10 goals. I thought how good a player was was determined by the stats?
He is a quality player for this division, not even you can argue that. Agree about Jacob being the star this season though, he got my vote for POTY anyway.
He scored 12 goals. The last time I checked it was goals that mattered. Not ****ing ProZone stats. It has not helped Davies confidence to be shoved out wide. Especially in place fo Frankie Nouble.
Arr but he was top of teh Prozone stats and HT has ALWAYS rated the West Yorkshire born silky midfielder. Or summat.
Also - before Portsmouth away he had started a grand total of 2 league games - King Keith thought that Cameron Park was a better starting option. Against Milwall, he made the assist on our only goal of the game, by McNulty, and was involved in every chance we had: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16559786 And against Doncaster, I've no idea, but he can't have been that bad as we won.
I mean away, they were taunted him during game and where joking about how bad he was on bus back to train station.
That is because Doncaster Rovers fans are mindless racists who wouldn't know a good footballer if he bumraped them in a Welsh Travelodge. He's that bad he's the second highest scorer in the Championship in the country and scored a hat-trick two days earlier.
A good 3 month that could easily have been near a full season if we'd kept him. Hemsworth - how much do u think it would cost to buy Vaz Te this summer?
You do it on purpose to get a reaction dont you You might be onto something with the idea that Davies was worse once Butterfield wasnt putting great balls through to him - but he was also a lot worse because he then took Vas Te's place on the wing Vas Te scored more goals in half a season ( and he didnt even get going until after the first month) than anyone else has come close to in the whole season - and he could create them himself - it helped to have butterfield and Drinkwater in midfield but it wasnt essential - see Leeds game and also Leicester away after butts had been crocked so he had a few bad games as well - big deal. I have a mate who works as a scout and reports on a lot of matches for various clubs - but he happens to be a west ham fan- his view is Vas Te is easily worth £2million and he was having to hold his sides in when he found out we had sold him for 500K
