S.M. I am not a skier, but have been to Flaines. Horrible architecture. Come down the mountain to Les Carroz village. Absolutely beautiful, with great access to the Grand Massif Range. Brilliant sking for all ranges of ability. Daughter has a small Studio in Les Carroz
Thanks for the info. Im a boarder as it happens, skiing is for old fogeys and dullards. Booked to go for Xmas, intend to spend the majority of the week in the mountains so the asthetics wont bother me, just wondered if there's any decent restaurants about to book up in advance.
I havent but know some who have - the architecture has already been mentioned - also if you are a boarder you might need to do a bit of walking near to the resort . Its a big bowl with steep runs at the edges and gets quite flat as you get back to the resort. Its also billed as a family resort so that means lots of kids - some people might see that as an advantage but not me
Been to Les Carroz several times. Great spot. Always had a day skiing in Flaine which has some great runs and decent off-piste as well. Just a shame about the "gays on trays" getting in the way of proper skiers!!
How much will my Xmas dinner cost? Despite the improvement in the exchange rate, am I still going to need a lottery win to eat out every night?
