http://www.yorkshireccc.com/news/ajmal-shahzad-media-statement/1180 Director of Cricket, Martyn Moxon said: ‘There has been a lot of discussion over a period of time with Ajmal regarding his cricket and it has been agreed by the Club and the player that it is in the player’s best interests that he pursues his career elsewhere. I would like to wish Ajmal every success in the future.’ Chairman of YCCC, Colin Graves said: ‘I am disappointed that Ajmal will be leaving as he is one of the bright prospects of England’s fast bowlers. We wish Ajmal all the very best in the future and thank him for his contribution to Yorkshire cricket over the years.’ Ajmal said: ‘I would like to thank both the staff and supporters of YCCC for all the help and encouragement that I have received since I joined the staff, and wish the club lots of success in the coming years. I am now looking forward to the next chapter in my career and hope to push for further honours within the game." The Club will be making no further statement and will not be conducting interviews on this matter and would ask members of the media to respect that and allow the Yorkshire side to concentrate on what is an important LV= County Championship fixture against Leicestershire at Scarborough commencing tomorrow.
Disgusting that shazad gets the boot to allow starc an Aussie to play, typical yorks ccc blinkered attitude
It's fashionable just to slag Hemsy off isn't it? I already knew thanks to Twitter but there are a lot of Yorkshire CCC fans on here and it's pretty big news for us so leave off him! Why the need for sarcasm? Hell of a lot more interesting than a lot of the drivel posted on here. Anyway they haven't got rid of Shahzad to make way for Starc though that's a load of baloney. I suspect Starc's been brought in because they knew Shahzad was off.
Living down south i dont get to see the cricket team more than a couple of times a year so i guess im no real expert but starc arrives and shazad leaves...mmmm for me shazad hasnt progressed after early promise, an all too often trait at yorks ccc, but he was good enough to play for england quite a few times 18 months ago, he's young and should still improve
Strange, was being talked up by Gillespie in pre-season and with him, Bresnan & Sidebottom we looked to have a decent attack. Don't reckon much to Dalby and the lad they brought in from the Yorkshire League last year but we'll see.
