Michalik is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree a new deal at Brunton Park. The news has alerted a host of clubs to the Slovakian international's possible availability on a free transfer this summer. Barnsley and League One bound duo Swindon and Crawley Town are thought to be keen on signing the big central defender as they look to bolster their defensive options. Carlisle would be reluctant to lose Michalik with the 28-year-old establishing himself as a key player in Greg Abbott's side since his arrival from Leeds in January 2011.
He could have a word with Ales Krizan about what it's like being from a none English speaking country at Oakwell
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half So no one is even slightly concerned that the rumoured competitors for his signature are both in League One then?? Must be just me. Still, I'm sure he fits the DNA.
He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half That many, including myself, would like to see signed. To be perfectly honest, I don't know much about him, whether he's any good, or, indeed, better than we've already got. Were we to sign him, though, I'd certainly not criticise the lad before he'd played a single competitive game for us. Unfortunately, the usual suspects would immediately be on his back for having had the audacity to have played for Leeds United during his career and, for the last eighteen months, been playing in League One for Carlisle. http://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10361~38899,00.html
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Obviously not!!!! But you'll want him to be wa.nk so you can say told you so.
If the manager is working within a very restricted budget Then I would've though it'd automatically dictate the level of the transfer market in which he'd be able to operate. But then, I'm not very bright, know bugger all about football and don't have all the answers for the predicament we're in. There are people far better qualified than I on the BBS that do.
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Spot on. I want to suffer alehouse league football again just so I can say I was right. Carry on Nero.
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Well why the fu.ck do you have to be so negative?? We are linked with him we haven't signed anyone yet and still your knocking every possible transfer.
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Because I am worried about the direction the club is heading in. There is no direction from the top, the manager is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and the players are not up to the standard of this division. This season was our worst ever points total from 46 games. The squad seriously needs strengthening in and we are not going to do this if we are looking at players who are only wanted by Swindon Town and Crawley.
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Well what is been a moaning pr.ick on here going to achieve?
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Why get so negative over a rumour?
Re: He certainly appears to fit the bill for a commanding centre half Posting on here doesn't achieve a single thing either way. It's a place to air your views or voice your concerns or bury your head.
Re: If the manager is working within a very restricted budget Hiya Kev, I still cant get into this BBS without only having access to the last post!! Here is something from a Carlisle fan put on tykesmad "Carlisle fan here, if i was a supporter of a team signing lubo i would be very dissapointed with it, he is 6 foot 4 and doesnt win any headers at all even against men half his size! We finished 8th and still conceded 74 goals which is amongst the most conceded goals in the league so i think that tells you something. I would imagine most carlisle fans would be happy with him going, Biggest wage earner and is probably our worst defender Good luck for next season " He sounds just like a Barnsley fan when we sell someone! You know they are brilliant until they leave!!!!
Bang on, mate Which is one of the reasons why I simply don't care what fans of other clubs say about a player of theirs we sign. From a footballing issue, all I care about is how a lad performs when he plays for us.
So cos were linked to a player he's ****? I'm glad i'm not like Conan, I judge players after a few games not before he's even signed
So if we signed a 39 year old centre half from Stocksbridge PS who had never played above the Unibond League would you reserve judgement until you'd seen him or would you think "he's probably not up to it". Extreme example - same principle.
Big plodder. Turning circle of the qe2. Powerful free kick. Be better out there on a free within our price range..
