We get on about been true Yorkshire folk and sticking together, not caring what others think. Having pride and passion. Well ****ing show some ay? We are going to be in the **** next season, but you know that old saying 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going' let's try and apply that rather than 'when the going get's tough, we all moan and winge' Keep The Faith
do you include keith hill in the going gets tough bit...... we all know its tough,we just dont expect to hear it week in week out from the bloke whos paid to get the best out of the players
For me it has everything to do with what is coming out of the club currently. Close season we should be whipping fans up into a pre season frenzy, with excitement of forthcoming matches, new kit, promise of "we may not have the cash, but we have the team spirit, the eye for a bargain, the passion". Instead we have a club that can't be arsed to celebrate it's own centenary of the cup win, no massive plans for the 150th year, a manager who repeatedly tells us that we can't compete. We see rivals launching their team strips amidst a wave of excitement and customer involvement. We can't be arsed to even give an indication of when ours is out. The marketing of the club is as awful as I have ever seen it. I have renewed regardless, but I am questioning my own sanity. The club could EASILY do more to drum up enthusiasm. Everything stinks of resignation to div 1 which is appalling when there are 40 odd games to play.
We arent - we are just pissed off We know we dont have the resorces of many clubs but we have always given it a go - battling barnsley we used to be know as but the messages coming from the club are just getting me, and many others, down Its one thing to manage expectations but we are going far to far the other way. I am just tired of having how poor we are and how sucess is not being relegated from the league which is basically our level over the last 100 years. you have to sell the club and thats just not the message coming from the board and manager
There is very little to "keep the faith" in. Hill is already talking about the struggle and how hard it will be. We had McNulty saying the same the day after the last season finished and then we've just seen a player we let go for relative peanuts score a goal worth 100 times what we got for him. The club seems to have given up. Like fired said our celebrations for the FA Cup anniversary were pathetic and I hold out little hope the 125 will be any better.
Like button still won't work for me, fecking Java, so; LIKE (Reply to Fired, BTW, seeing as it is in the wrong place.)
No, not explicitly, but all we ever hear is how hard it is and how amazing it will be to finish 21st. There needs to be more belief and to be frank more expectation within the club.
they may have not actually said we cant compete you're right,,but they've implied it,in the same manner as politicians never answer a straight question or actually say what the mean.........it soul destroying listening to all this we havnt got no money,we are punching above our weight crap,,,i for one will not accept we belong in league 1,cause thats whats implied in every interview... its all excuses incase we go down, then it'll be a case of well,we told you so,dont say you wernt warned....
Are you happy with everything coming out of Oakwell? I have never heard Hill say anything that make me think that Barnsley will be aiming for anything other than 3 teams going into admin! If we are aiming for 21st place then all we need to do is miss by one place and we are fecked. If people are constantly told we are not good enough and should accept that there is no chance , then that is what will happen. People were still saying we were doing great at the end of last season, despite us finishing with the 3rd lowest points gained total in the league, If we are daft enough to accept that then we will go down. no chance of survival at all. Hill is the most uninspiring manager I have heard and it shows in the teams performances after half time!!
