So we've not yet signed anyone, the rumours doing the rounds are of us signing 'quality' like Nile Ranger and Criag Westcarr. The Don hasn't got a clue. The manager is useless. The Wendies are signing Klasnic and Johnson from Bolton and Wolves respectively meaning instant Champions League placing. We are favourites to go down with the bookies. And last but not least we are potless and are getting 40p for our best midfielder.

How about a little reality check?

No-one knows who the club are trying to sign other than the management and the (lack of) money men. If we are bidding for the likes of Greer and Norwood, KH obviously has a clear idea of what he needs to bring into the squad. To be honest, most of us know that. QUALITY. But, quality costs. We do have some good players down at Oakwell, who will no doubt go from strength to strength next season after a full year in the Championship. Matty Done, Scott Golborn and David Perkins really impressed after making the jump from the lower leagues.

However, and its a big however, some of Hill's signings have been dross. Utter dross. Wiseman will never be Championship standard. For all the people saying 'lets put him on the right of midfield', that means leaving out (providing he stays) one of our best players in JOB. Not only that but Wisemans delivery is rubbish as seen in the away game at Donny last season. I'm still yet to be convinced that our CB pair are good enough to play every game without making a clanger. The jury is still out on Dawson, who needs at least 2 touches every time the ball comes to him and Craig Davies really needs to up his game.

As for the rumours. For every Nile Ranger link there is a Luke Varney, for every Craig Westcarr there is a Darius Vassell. For the people bleating and moaning about players that might never even play for the club, they need to relax and really think for a second.....

No matter what happens, we still play in the Championship, for now, and providing the acquisitions are astute then you never know, we might stay there for another couple of years.

    Good post matey.
But the scouts know who we are after, and the scouts have mouths - and they open them to people....

Dawson is better than Perkins. Davies will "up his game" when he has footballers behind him not runners.

Can't agree that Dawson is better than Perkins I'm afraid and Davies' need to learn to control a ball and score 1-on-1's doesn't stem from the players around him. Those are fundamentals of a striker.

Thats fair enough, however, the couple of years comment is in reference to moving up the league structure not down it. Even Captain Don can find a buyer/a decent amount of investment in that time frame surely!

I don't want to stay here for a couple of years. I never want to see BFC play in the Alehouse League for the rest of my life.

Perkins offers nothing. At least Dawson looks like he can move forward with the ball which Perkins can't do.

I wouldn't say Perkins is rubbish but I don't think he is Championship standard.
