Championship wages rise by 171% over 10 years

IMO barnsley players will not be playing for under market value wages.

Davies, if i was to guess i think he would be the shock of them all.
20 goals in league 2, was it on Radio Sheffield that Sheffield United were interested?

Hahaha. I reckon the chance to play and prove themselves at an higher level would have been enough for most of our lower league players to come to us. Yeah they will earn a bit more but if they are on 5k a week we must have friggin doubled their wages, which would be stuuuuuuuuuuupid if true.

    I will say two Words
    Matthew Mills

He turned down Barclay's premier league teams to sign for Npower Championship team Leicester City Football Club in summer 2011.
Do you think players are signing for Rotherham and Chesterfield because they are nice places? or because they are offering really good wages.

Get pumping that arm then, H-T is spot on.

Y/E accounts for year-ended 31/5/11 show total wages of £7.5m (£8.3m including NIC and Pension Costs). This is across all the employees of the company, not just the players, but they'll make up the bulk of the cost.

    181 total employees - 91 football activities, 28 admin/commercial, 62 matchday staff.

I don't know why people think Barnsley players earn less than everyone else.

BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB IS A MULTIMILLION POUND BUSINESS
From the other thread, Turnover 11 MILLION, 90% of that will be spent this financial year.

No doubting barnsley players earn a lot of money.

Thats what im saying, Barnsley players do earn very good money.
Even the 18 year olds will earn really good money.

I over heard someone at u18's say they pampered at that age. do nothing for themselves.

Thats football at a champ club.

The way people talk we haven't got any money.
Barnsley will have and will have let players go with eye watering wages. Mcevley gray doyle, will have been earning very good money and Barnsley will be able to reinvest that more equally. Wheres people positivity.

    Everything is relative.

We might have a little tiny bit of money.

Other clubs might have a lot of money.

Whilst other clubs will spend a lot of money that they dont have.

It frustrates me to read it Jacktatty.

I know why club say what they do, because there are in talks with players and they can't say well we can spend this but fans don't have to keep saying it.
I'm not sure how many players we let go but i bet it was a few and that would have been 10,000's of pounds less on wage bill to spend.

Which Don Rowing said they wouldn't cut the wage budget.

Sorry if thats off topic dyson, but it winds me up a little.

Tweet from Alan Biggs, local football reporter:

Doesn't mean, though, that #rufc won't keep committing boldly. Their wage budget expected to be around £2.5m - maybe plus 1 mill on #Cfd
