Seems like a good idea, especially if big companies got involved too.

Could do something for all of the companies that put up money too, either the company going in a matchday programme of on posters that are put up, just so the smaller companies still get a benefit from it even if they don't win

Send a link of this thread to Mark Stokes via Twitter. You'll probably get back something about no money, haven't got the staff, we're not as big as Huddersfield etc..

Good point :) So everyone gets something out of it lets add a few extra programme pages for a one off selection of adverts. Just enough space so each company get a tagline, their website address, company name and phone number. I'd not care if it was the Andrex or Durex stand. Just aim for 100 companies which with thousands and thousands around the UK alone shouldn't be difficult. Then we have 100k in the bank.

Exactly. Surely getting near 100 companies isn't that hard to do with an opportunity to name a stand for £1000 for a year. Guess it will come down to BFC 'not having the staff to contact companies' or something similar

True. I'm sure town centre alone companies like the bars, clubs, pubs, estate agents, solicitors etc would be open to the idea. Could add a few incentives in for the losing companies as a good will gesture. Maybe a signed shirt, a certain % off hospitality for a match of their choice etc. Get in touch with Walkabout, Blah Bar, Escapade etc and work from there. Emailing 1,000 companies will cost nothing at all as it's email, so even if only 30 or so email back interest it's surely worth it.

Yeah I think an incentive would be needed for the 'losers' so to speak, like you say % of hospitality/free adverts in programmes and on posters/website is a good idea. Again, if 30 companies are up for it, thats £30,000- the same amount the club have been loving over from the fan power stadium!

Could have "gold" membership 1,000 with a few incentives or a 500 "silver" membership with no incentives. Club can ring up Barnsley Job Centre and find two people to be on a Work Trial each for the next month so it costs nothing to BFC. Should they impress in that time maybe at least one of them will get full time work with us. Stick them in a room with phone numbers for every single business in Barnsley and the surrounding area. Give them a script to read from when ringing up so it would be like......

Hello i'm *insert name* calling from the Marketing department of Barnsley Football Club. I don't want to bother you as i'm sure you're busy but i'd like to email some information about a promotion we are doing so if it's not too much trouble can you please give me the email address of your manager so I can send them the information to look through at their leisure in their own time?

Once you've got an email address for all the phone numbers you ring it would be easy to one at a time copy and paste them some information to look through at their leisure. You can then look through any replies to see who's interested. Those who aren't can be got in touch with again a couple of weeks later so even if they are still not interested you get feedback as to why so you know where you can improve the offer.
