Intensive/Semi Intensive driving scheme. Thinking about finally learning to drive after my family reminding me that my sister and 2 cousins have passed and i haven't. Not been that bothered for some reason before but from pressure I've finally decided to do it.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch Don't do anything because of pressure. We once paid for soemone here at work to do a weeks intensive course. He passed but he was an awful driver. Not sure if the two are related!
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch Nar. I need to get it done really RedStar. Looking to be passed in about 5/6 month really at most. Should i buy in bulk? and risk not getting someone who knows what hes doing interms of getting someone passed quick or Should i pay everyweek and risk it costing 1,000 plus. PS i thinking about this semi or fully intensive course because i could get board of learning for 5/6 month.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch I'm sure somebody must have done! Don't do it just cause you are pressured, and get recommendations for a good instructor, not necessary an intense course. My missus got a recommendation for an instructor, she failed first 3 times! She then changed instructor and passed next time. The person who "recommended" the instructor had already failed 5 times with him!!! She passed as soon as she switched!
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch After saving for lessons have you saved up for a car?
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch I'm not that bothered about driving JT so no and i wouldn't at the moment want to drive anyway. I just want to learn and say thats it. -------------------- LDC seem to do some offers, not sure if there any good though.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch So you want to learn to drive but not actually drive after you have passed?
I wouldn't recommend taking intensive lessons HT, you need to gain experience on the road mate, driving a car is just part of driving, l
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch i dont think its bizarre as im playing on doing the same thing, im planning to learn to drive and pass within next 12 months then in approx 18-24 months planning of moving and finding a finance job with a company car (role i do i work in the office but can do a field base role) and then drive so im hoping to pass but not be actually driving for about 6 months to a year after.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch OK - but you have a plan on why you need to pass, but HT is suggesting that he wants to learn only because someone is pressurising him to do so, when he is not interested in driving, has no plan to do any driving or has no plan as to why having the skill may prove useful. It is passing for passing's sake - that's the bizarre bit. I am sure I could find better things to do with my money in the same position, and then spend it on driving when it may actually be needed. HT - the thing to take into account is that, if you do this, pass, and then don't drive for x years, then when you finally do drive again you would be a real danger on the road - you're skills would be no better than those of a learner and yet you would be capable of going out on your own. I wouidl seriously wait until you need or plan to drive.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch I did an intensive course many years ago as I turned 17 in July and had the lessons over the summer holidays. I think it was something like 25-36 hours over 4 weeks, but I can't remember exactly. Failed my test at the end of it, but that was not really down to the course, and passed it on the 2nd go a few weeks later. Would recommend it, although I've nothing to compare it to personally. Having 3 hour long lessons might not be to everyone's taste. You do most of your real learning on the roads after you've passed so I don't think there are any downsides compared to learning over a longer period. You still end up logging the same amount of driving hours and it's more focused on the test date (which you'll pretty much need to have booked by the time you start).
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch Just been looking things up and it seems like there pro's and con's to both ways. But i'm going to have get learning this theory stuff. Did it and i got 42/43 out of 50 which isn't good enough.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch If you're not planning on driving for ages after passing then why do you want to do an intensive course? If you do an intensive course and then don't set foot in a car for a year after passing your test then when you do get behind the wheel you'll have forgotten most of what you learnt and wont be a very good driver. Wouldn't it be better to take weekly lessons for a year instead so that when you pass you're ready to get a car or something? If you're planning on occasionally driving your mums car or something like that straight after passing then the intensive might be worth it. Like redstar said, don't do it because you feel pressured to rush because you'll just get more nervous and stressed and will probably fail. Relax and do it because you want to drive.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch i meant practice thing on pc. Got told by my Sister that 43's ok but i don't think so.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch 43 out of 50 is what you need to get to pass.
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch fair point - DSLRed
Re: Honest question. Anyone passed there driving test on a Intensive/Semi driving sch I remember when I was learning to drive I had 2 hour lessons but found them pretty boring and quite hard to concentrate for the full 2 hours. I would start making mistakes. towards the end of the lessons. I ended up just having 1 hour per week (though i was in no rush to pass) I couldn't imagine how hard it would have been to have 4-6 hours a day intensive driving lessons
