I'm guenuinely wondering about this, is it that we are just so unattractive as a football club (even though we do have very good assets) or is it that we havn't really tried??

The only assets we have are the players who wouldn't fetch a blackie's egg and a mucky spice between em. We don't own the ground, car-park, academy pitches etc so any investor wouln't have the option of selling the ground tio get their money back.

Correct - we are a very unattractive proposition as an investment - we effectively have no assets at all.

Remind me again who it is who attempted to build houses on the Oakwell carpark.

I know what you are getting at but that was all it was, houses on part of the car park and if my memory serves me well It was said at the time that the resulting profits made by Oakwell holdings would be used to redevelop the West Stand, that is using our assets for the good of the club, I've no problem with that, shame it didn't happen. That situation is totally different to some legalised crook coming in and shafting us left, right and centre.

Would you say that to his face.:nails::nails::nails:

Well, he called it sweating the assets!!!!!

But seriously, the way it's set up now would prevent that situation arising again, which is good. Remember PC along with the council own Oakwell holdings and with it being a joint ownership is probably safe from sanctions if the trial goes against PC. I call that good planning. Also, if someone who the council and PC thought was a safe bet wanted to buy the club and the land from Oakwell Holdings and was prepared to accept conditions and covenents required for the future development of the land, then I'm sure they would sell.

What situation? Doyle NEVER attempted to build houses on the clubs land. In fact I dont recall him making any attempts to steal land at all.

And you're right under the present setup what doyle did could never happen again because we would go under instead of being saved. No assets = out of business

Don't let the facts get in the way SuperTyke. Doyle mortgaged the land assets to fund the club and he borrowed the money from Sterling who were basically loan sharks.

I'll never understand why PC let him get the club like but to paint Doyle as never stealing land us frankly idiotic. He paid £1 for the club then mortgaged the lot. Bonkers.
