Joe Lewis and Paul Jones.... could Ferguson junior be looking at Ferguson senior's old signing and former Peterborough player Mr Lucas Steele?

I had this discussion on Sunday with my Posh supporting mate, his name has been mentioned supposedly, but nothing concrete

I can definately see it. They have got rid of two poor keepers, Steele did well there and only has 12 months on his contract. I'd not be at all shocked.

Can't see it happening but we are on about Football so it's possible.

Can't see him moving to a smaller club. He seems happy at Barnsley and surely would only leave for a bigger club?

Would you not say that us and peterbrough are of even standing at present?

I'd say that us and Chorley are of even standing at the moment.

That's bhow it seems sometimes anyway.

I wish we were as capable as them of getting good money for players. Expected to get another 1.5 million for a player to Bolton on top of around 2.5 million for the two strikers they sold earlier this year. I wish we could get four million for just three players.

    Its the same old argument.

Tie a player to a contract and you will be rewarded more handsomely, if / when they leave.

But only put real assets on these contracts, its all about good judgement and sound financial planning!

Bit of a sideways move for the fella. But I am informed that he is partial to a bit of crab.

Is Joe Lewis a poor keeper?

Wasn’t he in the England squad at the last World Cup?

Steele apparently ruled himself out of going back there the other week........

    http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/...osh-transfer-news-interest-in-pires-1-3807189

Still anything can happen. They could say "come back to us where you made your name and we will give you the security of a three year contract".

Or there is us "I know you've been a regular for the past four years for us, player of the year and coming into your last year with us but you are going to have to wait until a few months into the season before we offer you the inevitable two year deal".

The way the article mentions him fufiling his contract with us makes it seem like they are insinuating he will leave for nothing next summer.
