Absolute zero customer service following the trouble with lovely person who was helping themselves to my money, 2 weeks after the 1st withdrawal and they are still looking into it, ive had to ring them to find this information out so much for keeping me 'informed'. If bet if i owed them any money they'd have been ringing me constant.

Just as long as i get my money back is all i want, i doubt anything will happen to the lovely person that's been stealing from me they'll just move onto someone else's hard earned money.

This country makes me fuc.king sick

But dunt put it in The Halifax.

My fixed rate mortgage has just gone up, and no one can tell me why. The standard of some of the letters I've received back in explanaition beg credulity.

The awful truth is that sometimes they find it cheaper to write the fraud off than investigate it. Someone once topped a phone up and booked a hotel using my card details. I asked if they'd referred it to the police as maybe they could get CCTV evidence of them checking into the hotel, nothing was ever done I was bloody fuming.

How can a fixed rate mortgage go up?! The whole point of a fixed rate is that the rate/price are fixed.

    My point precisely...

...but after numerous letters and phone calls no one has been able to tell me why yet.

See if you can find the terms and conditions of the rate you signed upto and if it is a fixed rate it will state clearly that your monthly payments will not go up or down within the fixed rate period, send them a copy of this.

I have found them crap to deal with in general but as they have never wronged me as such I can't quite get round to moving.

They (santander) only refer it to the police if they can't find anything out within 5 weeks

Already gone way beyond that - still no satisfactory answer yet though. I think they're passing it on beyond the YOP trainee (or whatever they're called these days) now though - so at least the bullsh1t letters might be spelt right.

Sound like a set of cnuts. Will avoid banking with them in later life.

Hope it gets sorted and you get your money back mate. People like that make me sick of some humans.

I'm with them and wanted out for some time now, little thing called an overdraft holding me back. Tbf they were even worse when it was Alliance & Leicester. Would advise anyone else to stay well away.

They were discussing this sort of thing on Radio 5 a few weeks ago

Turns out they do have weasel clauses in there that allow them to alter a 'fixed' rate. False advertising if you ask me.

Ive been moved across to Santander as part of the sale of the high street RBS acccounts. Phoned them up for the first time yesterday. They couldnt answer my question about transactions on my account because two systems were showing a different set of transactions (presumably one of them not mine). Bit of a worry!

Just to add balance this thread, I like Gally was due to be moved across to Santander from RBS. I took advantage of the £200 Santander were offering to switch my account to them as I already had a mortgage with them. They swapped all my direct debits over and 3 months to the day after I switched, on the day they said they would, the £200 was paid into my account.
