Cause high heat training is essential practice for when we're playing Peterborough on a cold Tuesday night in November........

Luxury hotel, photo's of players laying around the pool. Looks like a nice holiday to me.

As for it being excellent for fitness. Remind me again how many injuries we had this season after this amazing (expensive) fitness training.

Did wiseman take part in it? Because he looked shagged after 20 minutes every week.

For me its a complete waste of money and just an excuse for them to go on holiday and call it work. They do nowt there that they couldn't do in this country except as you say the heat and lets be reight, that's hardly going to prepare them for snow, wind and rain that they get at oakwell is it.

You're spot on ST. Why on earth do we need high heat preparation training for a season of football in England - bit of a head scratcher. When I was in the Army we used to train for high fitness, high stamina events such as NCO cadres (promotion courses essentially) and for boxing tournaments by running for miles with heavy packs on our backs and up hills in places like Wales. Miles cheaper but by god we were fit and I do mean fit.

Load of rubbish....if they don't go to Spain, how will theyget their pre season tans sorted? They need to look good when they're wearing the latest "off the shelf" nike shirt.

Oh, and can you see Jim O Brien Planking in a pool in North Wales? No. Thought not. Spain it is.

Tell you what , if the kids are in Malta during July, they will not be doing ANY training during the daytime, until at least 7 pm.
I have been there during July and it was in 40`s every day, it is the hottest place I have ever been and that includes Egypt and Mexico /Caribbean.
**** knows how they play could football/train in that heat!!

Ok so Mario knows more about fitness than almost every team in top 2 leagues.

BTW Mario a cousin was thinking about RAF and he got told to simulate Warm wheather training by putting lot of clothing and then going out for run.
Hes a computer geek and was thinking about going in as a weapons person in a copper after going through uni. But as you will know everyone as to go through basic training and fitness tests.
