Being at Man Utd he's used to winning and playing for an ambitious team. So even if we could afford him I cannot see him joining a team used to losing and happy with 4th bottom.

Have a bit of faith, I'm hearing The Don's coming in with a revised bid once the bidding on the 1912 cup winning ball ends on ebay this weekend.

Only on loan. Rather different signing for a club with so little ambition.

When has the club said something ambitious lately? All we keep hearing is staying up is success, we have no money etc.

I'll be honest with you I haven't seen anything or heard anything on those lines coming out of Oakwell.Barnsley football club want to get promotion thats ambition,I think Barnsley will finish anywhere from the top 10 downwards, thats realism.

I wouldn't envisage us paying 500k for him anyway, and neither would I want us to. That's our budget gone, probably.

500k would be covered by the 500k we didn't get to spend of the Vaz Te money. Then we will get money for Buttercup, season ticket sales etc. We aren't as skint as you think.

I'll have you know I'm brassic! Oh... you mean the club?
Think the Vaz money went on Dagnall, Collins, Golbourne, Dawson, Nouble, Tonge, Cotterill, Smith and swimming trunks for Sidney. As for Butterfield, we'll do well to get 400k if as expected it goes to tribunal. And the season ticket sales are shocking, despite many attempts by certain individuals to dress them up as positive. We are skint. We are 2nd (Keith's own words) to any other club when bidding for any player when it comes down to finance.
Expect 4 or 5 loans in August, a few freebies in July, and perhaps a 100k signing from League's 1 or 2.

This is agent-speak for 'anyone willing to make me a better offer than Barnsley's?' I think that this is good news, because it shows that he is available. I would think that, having been on loan at Scunny and Coventry, we would still stand a good chance of landing him. This is the sort of player we need as a replacement for Drinkwater. Right move - hope it works out ok.
