Why are we even approaching that lot for a game? There should not be a cordial relationship between us and them. Oh, please, massive skullcrushers, please honour us with a game. Makes me sick - vvankers.
Glad we aren't playing Blunts. An home friendly should be a competitive game against higher league opposition so our players can test themselves against a better calibre of player. I hope Fulham comes off for that exact reason.
Re: Fulham's Marcello Trotta Good....we are trying to get players to peak match fitness, not onto the treatment table because they've been kicked off the park!
" It does not really matter who we play or what formation we use, it is all about match practice for the players." Dear Keith, Your piss poor ending to the season suggests that you very much DO need to worry about who plays and what formation is used because you do not know your best 11 players. This is evident from your constant chopping and changing of the side where not one person in the stands at Oakwell could honestly state what 11 players they expected you to play on any given saturday. The fact that you do not seem to know your best back four and ship goals like they are going out of fashion suggests that you need to work on this in pre season and establish who your best line up at the back is and what formation they work best in. The fact that we regularly spend 90 minutes without even having a shot on target suggests very much that you need to work on this in pre season and establish who your best line up in attack is and what formation they work best in. Alternatively you can pretend we dont have any problems, pretend that you have an appealing track record (Fecking Aqua have a more appealing track record to be honest) and pretend that all of YOUR mistakes didnt happen and that it was just down to fitness.
I agree; playing the blunts is no big thing, we won't miss the 300 fans they would have brought and we need to be playing better sides. Leave them to warming up against other third division sides.
Totally agree. Relegation form after Vaz Te and Drinkwater left. Saved only by Pompey's 10 point deduction, plenty of work to be done therefore. My view is that a team made up of League One 'grafters' was ok whilst there was a few quality players in amongst them, i.e. Butters, Vaz Te, Drinkwater. Remove the quality and you are left with a team full of League One 'grafters', hence the relegation form. The test therefore is to find some more 'quality' whilst paying very little for it. I'd be happier if he concentrated his efforts on that, rather than writing endless newspaper columns and focussing on 'fitness', cos no matter how fit you are, if you aren't good enough, you aren't good enough
