If someone attacked you gran and you went went and beat them up you will also get put in prison so the court system isnt perfect. If some attacked me i go to beat them up, not a trouble causer but thats the court system for you.
To be fair BFCFan4Life i've stated many many times in the past my opinion on football club's signing players convicted of such crimes and that was long before Barnsley showed any signs of signing anyone like that. It would be pretty hypocritical of me to suddenly pretend that I don't have a problem with it just because we've signed someone.
Me neither. I hope he does well, I think he's going to have to get of to a flyer if he wants to win people over.
Thats not what happened though is it Phil. I dont think he should be at Barnsley FC. I dont think he should be a role model to youngsters , no matter where he plays. If he scores 100 goals next season I will still have the same opinion. DISGUSTING!!!!! The hypocrisy of some on here is fookin disgusting!!!!
Me neither I guess that people deserve a second chance, but watching that video, knowing that lad is now a Barnsley player, made for very uncomfortable viewing. I hope he's learned his lesson and is a changed man.
Those blokes were waiting for him and his mate outside the Casino, seems like they bit off more than they could chew, seems very harsh he got sent down for that.
Young lad, bit of edge, naturally aggressive Gone too far and paid for it. Time for him to move on in his career. Hopefully
According to the court 3 other men got kicked out and the proceeded to wait for Etuhu and his friend outside after a "minor disturbance" inside. So, the Casino threw out the wrong men did they?
Aye, we fell for that one as well I've given my opinion on him here before now, based on his time down here - I'll let you make your own minds up.
if i had the power and the strength hes got and some one waited to get me i would have hurt them 10 times as much as he did. He got target in the casino becuase of who he is and he got targeted in court becuase of who he is. Let him get on with life. The laws wrong in my opinion but thats for another time.
There's that phrase again "role model" - since when did anyone claim that footballers ever were or ever should be "role models" to anyone? I want my kids to have role models - me and my wife would be a good start. Did I miss a meeting when it was decided that because you can kick a football on a pitch kids should be following your personel life-style choices off it? Morally speaking, I want my children to have certain standards which I could not care less whether they are reflected in the behaviour of footballers or not.
Danny Drinkwater didn't really perform for you, either, mate But his performances in a Barnsley shirt earned him a big money move to Leicester City. Eight years ago, we had Jon Walters on loan from Bolton. He played in eleven games, played poorly, didn't score, or even look like scoring. Now he's playing and scoring on a regular basis in the Premier League and is in Eire's squad for Euro2012. I dearly hope Etuhu's mended his ways off the field and improved on it.
Can someone tell me which guy in that CCTV footage is actually Etuhu? Because if it's the guy who volleys the bloke in the head, then I have to admit I'm not at all happy that we as a club are employing him. Fair enough, he's done the crime/time, and is welcome to turn his life around, continue his career etc. But I thought we were a family club, and to have a convicted thug in our team sends out some worrying signals. There are 100's of players out there we could have signed. I don't know enough about the lad to judge him as a footballer, but on the rare occasions that I've seen him, he looked average to say the least. And whilst we may criticise his signing, he's here now, and I hope he does well on the field of play, and behaves accordingly off it. And for once, I agree with the 12 month deal. But if he has a 4 month like Vaz Te, I'd expect the club to do a hell of a lot better in attempting to retain him, than they did with Ricardo.
