It has the potential to cause chaos. Hopefully the ref won't have to take the teams off but if he does I can see there being problems if the game is abandoned rather than just held up.
Why not prepare for it and if chanting starts get both teams to address the bullies. with a verse of. sticks and stones may break my bones but NAMES will never hurt me..
Im far from being a racist but I think this issue is fast becoming more important than the football. a show of unity of all players holding hands infront of the bullies would give a greater message than walking off the pitch.... my experience in life with bullies is not to walk away or go crying to someone but to face them head on...
The Football Authorities should adopt this song as its anthem..... this was one of the first records I bought as a teenager and the message was clear then.... so why not try it with todays racists... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HHT_V294Co
I think they should lay bats and hammers at side of the pitch and should the chanting start let the players steam into the racist barstewards then when they mullered some mush round the dual continue play..... It'll certainly increase the ratings and wipe that smug grin off platinni's face.
I'm up for the players walking off the pitch if they want to, they shouldn't have to put up with it. The refs wont want to stop any games, so im hoping that if there is any racism the teams just walk off by their own steam. IMO teams walking off would cause havoc on the championships remaining game schedules, and show what a joke it is that the competition is even being held there.
