Bit hard to blame Gerrard or Parker, hey were like a wall all game them 2. Im not bothered about him letting the goal in, was a good strike from Nasri, my concern with hart is the abaility to drop at least 5 catches a game
They did provide an excellent defensive wall but I do think one of them, or both, should have been closing Nasri down. Not that I am blaiming them for anything, like you say it was a good strike.
Ran around a lot, competed well, won some headers, had a couple of good moments in beating their defence for pace (before his control let him down and they caught up) and can't fault his defensive duties. That said, I think he got the ball to another England player about twice, which sort of defeats the point of a target man. Don't want to be overly critical as he ran his blood to water, but reading some of the observations about his performance today, you'd think he was the new Pele.
Having watched most of the games up till now, I think France v England has been the worst I have seen. OK, neither team wanted to lose but the match was pedestrian when compared to Poland v Russia (amongst others) Even then most of our lot were knackered after 75 mins. We seem difficult to beat but will have to rely on counter attacks to create anything. Woy been watching Chelsea too much.
I think the result was all important, and the performance less so. That said, there were some positives for me. And but for James Milner pinching another cap, we may have won. The lad is gash in the extreme. Couldn't cross a bloody road. Get Ashley Young wide right, and Jermaine Defoe up top with Danny Welbeck, and we should beat the Swedes. Have to admit I was impressed with Glen Johnson for once. Despite having the numpty ahead of him, he was decent in defence. Still think we need the captain to get involved further forward though.
