always a hot topic on here, what was the date for the deadline that The Don mentioned in an interview a few weeks ago? Sure he said a contract was on the table and he has until a certain date to accept it.
Just found it, June 19th. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...on-the-brink-of-extending-reds-stay-1-4620518
Contracted until the end of June, so that's a pretty strange day to set as a deadline. Would love a player of his type/quality to sign, but can't see it actually being Jacob. Unfortunately.
The contract deadline is a load of toss If Jacob Butterfield signs for another club we're only entitled to compensation if there is a contract offer from Barnsley on the table. If we withdraw the contract offer then he can walk away for free. Making out there is a contract deadline is meaningless bravado. Unless we're intending to cut off our nose to spite our face.
Suppose they have took into account that they've been waiting on him since xmas, has a club actually come in for him with a concrete offer?
billy big ****** is heading for a fall i reckon...... The special one isn't exactly knocking on buttercup's door is he................ i wish he would just fook off then we can forget the clown hth
The contract is clearly top of Butterfield's agenda.... Asking folk on Facebook if he should jet off to Marbella at the weekend, after Napa and Ibiza. Oh how bit of fame gone to his head.
The guys turning itto a total idiot. He should be in a gym or have hired a private coach to get him as fit as possible so he could hit the ground running in pre season.
from what ive read hes been away drinking. It was Jacob that said he was going to get fit for preseason.
I told you he was doing that last year and you said that he wouldnt because he is a professional footballer that would not be out partying!!!
Shock! Horror! 22 year old professional footballer goes on holiday with friends during the off-season. Possibly drinking too. **** me sideways. Some of you must be bloody saints the way you go on. The lad has been at Oakwell as much as the next player, in the gym, doing as he's expected to. I know a few other players are abroad doing the same as Jake, but they're alright, because they are staying due to not being very good footballers. Love this forum and it's hypocrisy.
Half of the team are away on holiday and undoubtedly having a drink... Trust me on this - it's what most footballers do!
It was his birthday at the weekend too. But no, because he's talented and has other options he's a lovely person. Stay tuned for tomorrow's headline - "Jacob Butterfield to blame for recession.."
