And where is the money coming from? I like the sound of these guys, but there's just something nagging away at the back of my mind.
Mido agreed in 2010 to play for west ham for £1,000 per week with a view to getting his career on track. I think this is a similar deal. McEveley was well paid as I understand it earning a good basic wage, one of the top earners at the club. Mellis wont be on a fortune as his reputation isn't great. Think the budget this is the same as last.
In that case , we will be skint even more than normal then. But of course it does not matter to you, because you dont have to pay the staff do you? Your sums are fookin shocking!!!!
The club won't. I suspect it's more or less common knowledge ticket sales have been less than previous seasons. I would rather have 10000 through the door at 300 apiece than lose nine thousand who grumble
As ive said before, I love going to oakwell. wind sun snow rain match day, not match day. Love watching the reds play at u18s/ res/ first team. but i prefer to watch them away from oakwell. Some other consumers spoil oakwell for me. The club havent said anything. Nothing zilch zero for a few month now. last was end of april?. The finance are fine, same budget.
Get rid of the 9000 supporters that you don't want and you will be able to have oakwell all to yourself. Nobody will be moaning but you'll be watching Barnsley play Darfield FC on a sunday morning.
does it really matter where the money is comming from?,,,,,,the funds have come from somewhere,i know one of our main sponsers quite well and he told me 5 or 6 weeks since that the manager would have money to spend on players this summer.....and looking at whats happening he was telling me the truth...we are signing players..also I dont think for a minute they are putting the financial staus of the club at risk and that we are living within our means. whoever is putting the money in must be applauded because if they wernt we'd be in serious bother...I can only think they are doing it because of their love for the club, what the club really needs is the backing of the fans, some of the fans who managed in the past to get to wembley, cardiff and all the big cup matches should make an effort to get to league matches...financially we are a league 1 club and this is mainly down to attendences,,if the attendences were nearer 14-15,000 then we'd stand a chance of getting more investment. the club seem to be making an effort this summer, given what they've got,so lets hope some fans make an effort.
