Don't worry. Call Me Dave had a private conversation with Jimmy and apologised saying it was all for show. Jimmy is relieved he's still a bloody good egg and gave Call Me Dave a 50k "donation". Tax deductable of course.

Next week they're meeting for polo and gay tomfoolery.

Save your anger for the people that make the rules, not the people who play to them.

I guess if everyone was called in by their bosses tomorrow and was told that the company accountants have found a legal way of reducing your tax, most would opt in for the saving.

They'd have to be because how can illegal immigrants get benefits?

Is it too hard a concept to separate illegal immigrants, economic migrants and asylum seekers?

    Looks like it.

I think it's wrong and not something I'd do, but at the end of the day you shouldn't have a choice in how much tax you pay. It should just be done. So the government have to take full responsibility for it.

Wonder why they didn't come out slamming Philip Green? Or Vodafone?

All piss in the same f.cking pot.

They've hardly turned on the rich have they? What they've done is get one over on someone who clearly does not support them.

Like SuperTyke said, what about Gary Barlow? He dies exactly the same and I'd like to bet he's avoided more, but he's a Tory Sycophant so it does not get a mention!

There will be countless others famous or not doing this. The point is that if Camewrong is serious about doing something about it he should get on with it instead of hoping that embarrassment sorts the problem.

HMRC knew all about it. And didn't do anything. They're to blame. Full stop.

    Tossers.

HMRC can only apply tax law as it stands

Where do you think the money for aid comes from? Taxation. If we use it on aid or not, it still comes from taxation.

But if they know it happens, the government know it happens. So they can change it. But they chose not to.

A member of the Treasury Select Committee admitted on 5Live yesterday they knew about it, too.

HMRC can't change it, they are an executive agency of HM Treasury, not a law making entity. They can of course influence policy in this area. But seeing as the vast majority who employ these schemes will be Tory voters and are likely to be Tory donors, I'm betting **** all will happen. Like you say, what about Philip Green and Vodafone?

I really, really want it to come out that Cameron or Clegg (and preferably more of the cabinet) have used similar methods to reduce their tax liabilities over the last few years. They are all rich, have big incomes and will use accountants to prepare their tax returns, so it is not a stretch for them to be avoiding taxation.

Didn't say they haven't (in fact would be surprised if they hadn't) - but if someone is going to come out and slag off an individual for avoiding taxes they had better be whiter than white in all of their previous tax dealings. Otherwise its just more political hypocrasy.
