Blimey, I'd almost forgotton about the mailing list, them were the good old days indeed! Do you know Santa? I'm coming to see him just before Christmas, he lives in Lapland apparently. Are you that far North?

    Haha, well, thanks!

Not as many as I'd like to... I used to come over at least once a season, but because of some real-life issues it has now been too long since my last visit. But I'll do my best to come over again some time during the 2012/13 season, it'd be great to see some old friends again and the Reds in action at Oakwell. :)

Nah, I live on the south coast, I've never even been <i>that[/i> far north actually. I hope you'll enjoy your little trip to my country! :D Let me know if there's anything that I can help you with.

Just read this thread, and would like to welcome our Egyptian friend, and say just how remarkable Tomi's story is about following the Reds.

I was at the meeting myself and when they introduced you, I said to Redstar that it would be bloody typical that we would get relegated in your first ever match and we all know what happened! The meetings were good in those days and they used to get good speakers. John Hendrie was the best of the lot - it all became too much for me seeing a legend like Super John and then having to watch useless turds like Kevin Donovan and Richard Naylor on the Saturday.

Our squad is currently undergoing a re build, we were hovering around the top half for a while but we lost 3 or 4 key players and only just managed to stay up.
Altough if Jacob Butterfield does stay I have a feeling we may be around the top half next season, although we will probably just stay up again.

The EPL as you're calling it, is way way way above our current level..

The mailing list still exists, every now and again someone sends a message, also what happened to our other 'famous' overseas fan, I think he was called **** and from Norway if I remember correctly.

wow! My old e-mail account no longer even exists, so I've probably dropped off the mailing list...
Yes, the Norwegian Reds fan was called **** indeed. He used to post here every now and then, and I used to stay in touch with him somewhat regularly, but I haven't heard from him for ages now... Did you know that he runs the Barnsley FC supporters club in Norway? :D http://www.barnsleyfc.no

I visited Egypt in March 2011 in the 'honeymoon,' which followed the end of Mubarak. You should know that I wore my Barnsley FC baseball cap at several tourist locations, including the Valley of the Kings, the pyramids and Giza and the sphynx. Maybe this is where news of Barnsley first came from to the wonderful land of Egypt???

Perhaps Midojust wants out in case he has one of those nice little apartments somebody agreed to build all over the Nile flood plain instead of growing crops there. Still a sore point with some, I think!

Looking forward to getting him fit and back to best form.

Buy the shirt - and the cap!!!
