The luxury of "some" holidays .....

....... has been afforded him by BFC. Hope he remembers that. Hope he remembers too that I will be having just the ONE holiday, complete with wife, two sprogs and all the misery that entails whilst all the time pondering if I can afford a season ticket to help him towards next summers "some holidays"

    Rant over.

Good rant but lost on footballers as they dont give a t0ss about fans and the sacrifices many have to make to pay their wages.

Yes why don't we all slag him off and drive one of our best promising players in years. Get behind him and lets hope he signs and continues doing what he started, and that's playing well playing some great football for US!!!

with the greatest of respect its hardly butterfields fault most of us only have 1 holiday a year, wether footballers are overpaid or not its entirely upto them how they spend it.

As for thereevs post think it proves beyond doubt he is actually a 6yr old delinquent high on half a pound of wine gums

    Why fek him?

We need top players and he's quality. Flair players need arrogance. Would prefer to see him in our shirt than someone else's this coming season.

Come on Jacob, join the revolution......

Agreed - seems there's some Jealous folk on here - look he's a professional footballer, if you object to the money he makes then I suggest you start following a suitable amateur sport, he is in an elite group of about 2,000 people in the country who make a lot of money as footballers. I don't agree with it, but I don't resent the players who are just looking after themselves.

Really really hope he signs on again with us. After only 6 months of real first team football (a stormer at that) I think another 2 or 3 years at Barnsley would be much more beneficial to him from a career point of view - and prove to be a more intelligent decision than the ones made by Messrs Hammill and Howard. I'm not saying that he should never leave, it's just that he should only move when the time is right for both him and our club. Tthe club which gave him his chance should be rewarded accordingly with a proper transfer fee if or when the time comes, instead of being dictated by a tribunal, a fee that would reflect a modern day player of his ability.

I personally think he owes us that respect.

Ditto... I choose to spend my spare money on football and holidays. Been on 4 in the last 12 months. Butterfield can't choose to go and fully deserves to go on as many as he wants in the off season.

We need quality players who want to play for Barnsley and don't sign just because no other club were interested. I don't think that's good enough for BFC.

I don't think we can afford to pick and choose......got to be realistic, we aren't going to be the number 1 choice for most players if not all

My only issue with his tweet is that the season only finished 8 weeks ago so how many holidays can he realistically have been on since then? It can't be that many.

As an injured player would he have been going on holiday while the season was still ongoing?

I understand that and I don't disagree; my issue is that I think he is playing us and after what we have done to develop him, after showing him loyalty and standing by him I think he owes us a little more respect. He is in a very privileged position and he is keeping us dangling which I don't like.

Got to remember he is only 21 ish still and just a young lad, if he waits another 15 years he won't want to have a 'lads' holiday etc - sometimes people forget these players are still kids at the end of the day.
