Fantastic experience watching the players train yesterday, nothing but praise!! Great group of lads made us feel very welcome!! They did a big warm up before having a 45 minute none stop game with 3 teams, one team on one team off at 10 minute intervals. The youngsters consisted of Digby, Rose, Stones, Steade, Clark and Lukas Ludikevskiflxn (sp) none of them looked out of place. Rose is a Le Fondre like player in my opinion, fox In the box. Clark and Digby look solid and creative in midfield. Steade and stones look solid at the back. Let's hope they make the step up in competitive football. The two players who stood out for me were Kelvin Etuhu and Chris Dagnall, both making lovely touches and scoring goals from all angles. Keith Hill made it quite clear that certain players won't be playing if they can't be bothered to run and close the ball down. Perkins and Dawson looked very energetic, the only two players who never had a break. The language was very colourful, but the banter between the players and management was great. At the end we wished every player good look for the season ahead, and they came and shook our hands and wished us a nice rest of our holidays. We asked King Keith for a picture and he obliged and asked us about our holiday and where we were staying etc. All in all a lovely day and experience thanks to the players and managment making us feel very welcome. By the way RNL woke up with a strain so was working with the fitness coach. And no Mido, which we already established.
"RNL woke up with a strain" Is he in a room on his own? Should check what he ordered on the pay per view.
The players all look good playing against other players of a similar standard though. I'm sure players at all clubs look decent in pre-season training.
No that's not the camp. They are staying at Grand hotel benahavis and the football pitch is right next to it. It's not a massive training complex. The village is very idyllic. Very warm!!! Thanks Kev! Enjoying our last day on the beach. No mention of the match tomorrow.
Seriously Dagnall made some lovely touches. Etuhu looks like another Vaz Te, but without the arrogance!!
