We've agreed well over a million pound, including a sell on clause and fee based on international appearances.
That must be a lie, Don's in charge etc... etc.. ;-) Good news tho. That should give Keith a good chunk to spend.
£1.1m fee 5% sell on clause if he signs for the club of his dreams Barcelona An additional £0.1m if he reaches 50 international appearances
Rightly so aswell, it does make you wonder what fee we would've got for him had he been under contract, especially in today's crazy transfer market. But if what is write us true I'd take a stab at about 1.3m, this will most certainly go towards some fresh faces. Let's see who may be signing today then.
I'd say "well over" 1m should be at least 1.3m but I suppose everyone's interpretation will vary. Anyway, it is good news but I can't help wondering Norwich were thinking we might get at a tribunal if they have offered that. However, I'll get excited when I see what we do with the money.
its obvious isn't it ? they stalled negotiations so they could trawl for ideas on here and then went for it!
Well over a million is still not the going rate, l'd be happy with over £2 million considering what they have spent on other players. Take it we weren't confident about a tribunal then? Do we think we'll see any of this money spent on the ground.........new videoboard now affordable Don at 125k to generate a bit more sponsorship income and improve the matchday experience? or possibly a couple of £500k quality championship players? No, l'm guessing possibly one small fee for a player, a couple of out of contract signings and numerous interviews about smallest budget in the Championship, breaking even, struggling to compete etc.....
Don't mean to be downbeat but with the current regime in charge l dont see the fee making a difference to Keef's summer spending, it'll be used to offset something. The club refuse to spend off the field to improve their income. Clubs like Rotherham, Donny and Hudders go out and find sponsorship for stands, stadium, scoreboards etc yet we seem to be sat on our arse's. People will say how do you know they aren't doing anything? Probably by seeing that dreadful scoreboard in the corner nearly redundant and only CK Beckett & Dimensions signs on any stands, and numerous interviews about poverty...
Problem with the international appearances is that will be whilst he's still at Norwich, and I can't see him breaking into the England first team whilst at Norwich.
Personally, I think the lad is undervalued However, it's a damn sight more than many thought we'd get for him, £500 000 being the most suggested fee. Also, I'm happy that this has been sorted out relatively quickly without the need to go to a tribunal and helps everyone to move on.
Re: Personally, I think the lad is undervalued After the jumble sale of McIndoe, Hammill, Vaz Te and a lesser extent Shackell, anything over a million and we should be over the moon. I'm wary though at the clubs wording, remember The Don saying he had got a considerable fee or something to that extent regarding the Vaz Te transfer.... l wonder what "well over" means in the BFC dictionary.
WELL OVER to me means 1.5 million plus. The club will reinvest for sure. Stop getting on at the club all the time. Im really happy that the figures not public.
"Well over a million pounds" I imagine King Keith will get the "well over" part of that figure to spend on new recruits. So that's a couple of hundred thou. Big spending Barnsley.
Remember the word now.... "Substantial" Substantial fee received for Ricardo Vaz Te was The Don's words, 500k is not substantial in my book, maybe at Scunny it was Don.
Its a totally different deal. Vazte was quite a problem. Listening to one of players, could have been one of the younger players and they said vazte going wasnt the big problem it was drinkwater and buttetfield gone which was.
No we shafted ourselves by not offering him a new contract soon enough. We are like Arsenal for allowing our best players contracts run down.
