If you've been an existing season ticket holder for the past (I think it may be 5 years but worth checking) then you qualify for the reduced price in the season after your 60th birthday. For any new season ticket holders, you won't get the reduced rate until you're 65

That's not right. My dad was 60 this year (march) and been season ticket holder about 15 or so years. Has to pay full for another five years now. And he's seriously pissed about it. If you currently get one, then it continues, if 65 by Aug 12th this year you get reduced price. And I presume they will set a date each year now like this year.

I think it's as Nez said, if you were an existing OAP season ticket holder then you continue to qualify, if you are a new OAP season ticket holder then it's 65.
Just reaching 60 having had a normal adult season ticket makes no difference.

    I don't think that's right mate.
I was a normal season ticket-holder who had an adult ticket but then changed to OAP last season at 60.
Three seasons ago they changed the age limit from 60 to 65 unless you were an existing season ticket holder in which case you could have one at 60.
I was 60 in March 2011 and had had an adult season ticket for around 15 years.
I filled in the form as an OAP, took down my birth certificate because I was changing castegory from adult and I was given an OAP ticket at the begining of last season at reduced price. I renewed it this season at 61 without needing a birth certficate.
Then again they may have changed the rules yet again.
