Fabio Capello believes we'd have done better at the Euros with him in charge

Presumably he's basing this assessment on how well we played under his stewardship at the 2010 world cup, which I seem to recall was abysmally.

Shouldn't be surprised by this show of vanity though, explains why he chose to keep picking the same old never-will-be's who are without fail as vain and egotistical as he is.

He knew how to qualify though, just as Sven did. Hope Roy does. I don't think any manager would have got further than quarters as the euros though, and Roy got 7 points in the group, so not sure what capello is on about. We were worse in 2010.

National manager equivalent of Neil warnock - good at getting them to the tournaments - in Colin's case the premiership - but not very good at keeping them in it!

Added to the dreadful performance at the last world cup is the fact that he is saying he should have been allowed to retain Terry as captain of the national side despite him clearly being poison, and the fact that he felt so strongly about his right to choose a rat like Terry that he would resign over it, and you have to say good riddance to such terrible judgement.

 

Just like Sven he has a massive ego and probably blames everybody and everything except himself for South Africa. In terms of his (and Svens) wages and value for money they were both abject failures.
