    From Robbie on Twitter:

"Just to confirm the offer was there to ally and rangers I'd play for nothing if they needed me and pay my way up there!"

He's offering to play for free and pay his own way there and back. Unreal!

Theres a few strange tweets from him..

I saw them, I think fair play to the lad.

I like him c'cause he says what he thinks about teams, whether its Man U or Morecambe.

I dont disagree with you. I think it shows he's more bothered about playing and not about his bank balance. Would do a decent job up there too!

Agreed, fair play to the lad, seems like a genuine offer as given his age there's nothing in it for him football-wise.

Fair play to him. He is loaded already and obviously misses playing.

I never really liked him, until I heard him giving that Wednesdayite grief on 606 last season.

I remember Michael Boulding did the same at Oakwell and some people gave the manager dog's abuse for accepting his offer. Unreal.

Bit of a difference in Michael Boulding playing 2nd tier football in England, and Robbie Savage 3rd tier in Scotland, though.

Plus his hair would look wonderful in the crisp Scottish breeze.

The standard of football is undoubtedly different but I was talking about the sentiment. Both players offering to give their services free of charge is very honorouble in both instances. It's not even a gamble for the club if they take up the offer because it's a win win situation. If he's any good, great. If he's not then you don't pick him (which is what happened in Boulding's case). The difference is that Robbins was castigated by people for accepting the offer and Boulding ridiculed whereas Savage has rightfully only received plaudits. I don't see the difference between the two. Remember Boulding was fit when he made the offer whereas Savage hasn't played for a couple of years. Persoanlly, I think both players are to be praised,

    Why?
It does not cost anymore , its free. If it turned out he was up to it, great, if it turned out he wasnt up to it , great he didnt cost anything to find out.

Boulding was only ever here to put himself in the shop window. Fair play to him. As you say, it cost us nothing, and we did him a favour.

Fair play to Robbie, top bloke, like him as a pundit too, he tells it how it is.

I'll play for BFC for free and I'll make my own way to the games too.

In my opinion having boulding here did cost us something, it cost us quite a lot.

cost us money having to buy kits for him. I know its not a lot but its still money and when theyre bleeding the fans dry for every penny then I think it matters).
cost us money feeding him presumably.
cost us money having to pay for coaches to coach him
cost us valuable time and attention of coaches which could have been directed towards real players.
cost the young academy lads valuable experience in the reserves.

I know some might say that the above is nothing and trivial but if that is the case then why dont the club let random fans turn up and join in training sessions with the first team? Simple. because it does cost time and money to do that.

thought Savage was a bit of a bell when he was a footballer but have nothing but respect for him since, tells it how it is, has stuck up for "small" teams like Barnsley deserving respect on numerous occasions and then this

Forgot use of toilet roll in the shitter there ST. Possible 6 sheets a day, 6 days a week for roughly 40 weeks runs away with the stuff.

    **** happens.
