    1. Allow income to drop as low as possible whilst ensuring that expenditure is just below income leve until our income drops to 50p per year and our expenditure is 25p per year.

    2. Borrow 50 billion from a bank, fail to repay it and go out of business.

there is absolutely no opportunity at all to make more money. Nu huh, can't possibly happen

And use that money to offset the losses due to our board and owner allowing the club's regular income to slip lower and lower. Butterfields money is being used to offset the losses apparently. So when we hear the brilliant news stories about us being in the black lets not forget that if butterfield had signed a new contract, broken his leg or something else happened to him we would have lost £1m plus? Had we not got lucky with vaz te and shackell would we have lost a further £1.5? How long can we rely on getting lucky with the occasional player who is worth some money and jumps ship at the first opportunity?

In my opinion Oakwell should be utilised 7 days a week. We should have car boots, regular fairs, shows and general events at the ground almost every day. The middle man should be cut out with the catering so that the club makes all the profit (if lindley is making a profit from the club while providing such **** food then why cant we?) and we certainly shouldnt have 13-15,000 empty seats every week for the sake of getting an extra couple of quid out of the fans who do go.

    Just my opinion.

or we could do a george osborne,
cut the admission for the executive boxes and the corperates and then offset it by raising the ordinary season ticket holders and matchday tickets, and concessions oap's kids etc would go . just saying like.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....

A go-kart track in the car park is the answer. Actually no, make that the world's biggest scalextric circuit!! Put us right on the map! Or can we have both? Do we really need all those training pitches?

Nothing at all. He might come across as having a daily pop, but Christ, he has some ideas, you can't fault that. Shame the club won't attempt any of them.

At meadowhall there is a carpark where under 17's can have driving lessons. Looks pretty busy when I drive past there. Presumably there are under 17's in Barnsley who would have lessons too. that's one use for the carpark in the 160 hours a week when it sits empty.

A go kart track might sound stupid but why couldn't some kind of racing event be used in what has to be one of the largest tarmacked areas in Barnsley?

The council won't give planning permission for car boots sales due to the impact on its own Sunday morning markets - it's been tried in the not too distant past. The east stand exec area is used for conferencing and business events during the week - the council were holding council meetings in there last season for example. There are regularly fairs on Oakwell.

What sorts of things were you thinking about with regards to "regular fairs, shows and general events"?

    Agreed.

Im not sure I agree that dropping the price by a couple of quid would make any difference.

The only thing that will get people in the ground is a decent team on the pitch and that ain't happening anytime soon.

when the new board took over at Fev Rovers first thing they did was stop the outside catering so all hot dogs, burgers etc were sold by the club and they also created about 4-5 more Bars around the ground selling alcohol. The car park is hired out during the week. Mark Campbell the chairman is a very shrewd business man who is constantly thinking of ways to make cash.

Fev made £20000 profit last year which doesn't sound much, but there are very few RL clubs including SL (who get 1.3m a year from sky) that make a profit.

BFC are very very lax at making extra cash, like they can't be arsed

4-5 bars at Post Office Rd and we can't even get one in the Ponty End.

I think a lot of people have a cut off point of £25 for a game of football and Barnsley have set our prices at £28. Knock £3 off and I think attendances would go up. Not a lot but they'd go up. This stupid membership scheme puts a lot of people off and totally goes against what Don Rowing said when they ousted Robins.

Other uses for the stadium? Off-road driving lessons. Antiques fairs, conventions of sorts. Festivals, music events, one off shows. Park and ride, secure car-parking.

We could even try to raise more money on match days. £5 to have your car washed while it's parked at the football. They make money from it at Tesco so why not at Oakwell?

My biggest gripe with BFC is their lack of effort. Prime example is that we have (or had) a sky sports subscription and a load of TV's in the concourses yet there was absolutely no strategy to utilise these two facts. One week the TV's would be turned off, the next they'd be showing the pitch. Third week BBC would be on, Fourth week we'd be watching a re-run of an old Barnsley game, Fifth week sky sports would be showing a live match. Week 6 they'd be showing soccer saturday with no sound on and one week 6 we'd be back to the TV's being turned off. That isn't just poor, its shockingly bad. My local chippy shows live matches whenever they're on yet BFC can't manage it. Laughable.

5p per word. Costs me a fortune when there's more than one paragraph. Though to be fair hemsworth tyke uses more words in his posts and he's only attempting to write the word know.
