If her parents murdered her over their embarrassment of her "Western ways" why the f*ck did they live in Britain?

    Just wondering like.

Honour killings, forced and arranged marriages, the grooming of young Western girls; it's about time their own communities, those who claim to be moderate started to do something about the way their culture view women. A young girl died needlessly due to the backwards and intolerant beliefs of her abusive parents who probably did it because of some medieval Islamic views.

There was a programme on recently about a family who drugged and kidnapped their own daughter because she refused to go ahead with an arranged marriage after meeting a man of her own.

I've been criticised over the past few wk's for some of my rather over the top views and opinions but this religion of there's is pissing stupid, how the **** can you even contemplate murdering your own flesh and blood because she as her own out take on life. What they preach is certainly not what they adhere to, if he really is guilty of the crime then he should rot in hell if you ask me, he dosent even deserve any form of religion.

All this honour they believe in is utter ******, cranks a tell you!

It gets even better when they govern their own people. I watched a programme, more of a documentary, a couple of years ago and it made me feel sick. Honour killings going unpunished, the stoning of women who had committed the crime of being raped. The sickening way they murder hostages, the intolerance of other cultures and religions.

Did you ever see that docu-drama a few year ago called Britz?

A thought it was 1 of the best programmes I've watched but a real eye opener on how a SMALL section of the Islamic faith view westerners. A know it was only a programme but it made me sit up and think that we live in a society were we don't know who we are living near. I was working in burnley a few wk's ago in a mainly Asian community and I actually thought a wonder if there's anyone round here who is involved in any forms of terrorism. The customer was telling me that there were lots of arranged marriages that took part around his streets, it amazed me really as you only here about these things in the media when something goes wrong when in all fairness it's happening right on our door steps on a daily badis

without being racist - It is the hypocrisy of a sizeable minority of Asians that come to Britain that annoys me. If you emigtare to another country you have to accept their traditions and customs and adapt. Many of these muslim Asians use religion as an excuse to continue with their own dress, customs etc. If I went to Iran or any Muslim countries and tried to continue with a European lifestyle I would be arrested or worse

Dubai,Saudi Arabia, Quatar......how many 'westerners' do you think work and live there. I know a few and believe me they don't walk about dressed like the locals or go to prayers four times a day. They tend to live together and don't integrate with the locals

I was just on about the certain parts of Islamic faith in general. I may have stepped off the beaten track slightly.

But how many nip to the shop in shorts and flip flops or get drunk to relax. Saudi Arabia treats it's women appallingly, worse than second class citizens. Imagine trying to make a stance and exercising your democratic right of free speech. Better still imagine demanding a church in Iran so you practise your faith or even having the nerve to be gay.

I wasn't referring to dress. Most Europeans in the places you mention are workers/contractors on medium/short term contracts which is not the same as people/families emigrating and settling in say, the UK. T Also, the strict laws, many based on the religion, in places like Saudi make it difficult if not impossible for Westerners to 'integrate'. Because of this there are simply not the same opportunities to integrate as Asians have here. Mecca for example is totally off limits to non-Muslims (they even have a motorway that bypasses it for non-Muslims). I don't know of any similar mandatory 'no-go' areas in Britain. Drinking alcohol is a criminal offence in many countries (some allow drinking in the privacy of own home) and European women are forced to adopt the clothing ie. cover their heads and arms etc. in public.

    To add to that...

...I did work for a short time in Sharjah and Bahrain although it was over 30 years ago. Bahrain was a' free state' then and every Friday the planes used to fly in from 'dry' Saudi for the weekend packed with Germans, Dutch British etc who wanted a drink and visit a few hotel bars. Saudi according to them was like being in prison. You just kept your head down, didn't go out and just got on with your work.
