i can confirm i will not be in attendance as if they need forumites to suggest how to run the club then there aint a lot of point / hope really is there.

I just don't think it will achieve anything. As I have said I applaud Gally for arranging this, but what will happen is that I will ask why we can't have beer in the Ponty End and we will get some feeble excuse in return when it is obvious these things CAN be done.

 

Its our opportunity to put suggestions or issues directly to Don rather than people just bairning on here. There are a few who post on here who I thought would have jumped at this opportunity but strangely none of them are interested in coming.

 

I'd be very surprised if the meeting achieved zero. These sort of meetings should help generate and discuss a range of things. Some ideas may be out of reach (for whatever reason, be it finance or other) but I hope there can be some improvements.

I certainly think the main topic of discussion could end up being better engagement with the fan base. One or two on the invite list e.g. springvalered and I have been here before (with establishing Penistone Reds) and will have some ideas about how to raise the profile of the club as much as we can - without shoving it in people's faces.

There will also be the opportunity to find out how the application is going for the beer issue mentioned above. To many, that does seems like a real money spinner not taken up.

 

In other words, you'll continue to be a keyboard warrior.

 

Yes I do criticize on here I will admit.... but it is a free country and we are allowed freedom of speach. As for turning up to discuss said failings of the club, it is not a big enough priority in my life to justify my attendance. I realise it is some people's priority in life and clearly they are far more dedicated to the club than I ever will be. Having said that I have been following the team since1976 when mi dad first took me. Therefore I feel I am entitled to voice my opinion on here. Yes I post daft stuff on here as well but it does not make me a criminal etc. my own view that the current regime couldn't a p.ISS up in an acorn brewery is I suppose irrelevant.

I think you should go. No point giving ideas and suggestions on here and then not taking up an opportunity to meet the fella who most hold responsible for all the problems face to face.
