Definitive Polish pronunciation of our new player's name

    Spelled out phonetically his name is TOMASH TSYFKA, or SIFKAR if you have trouble with a T and and S together;)

    As someone else has said, wonder if this will encourage a few of the Barnsley Polish community to turn up to support him. I will certainly wear my Polska shirt to support him.

    (PS I'm not Polish, but my partner is)

    Mmmm, mine just told me it has a Ch at the front, like her surname Cielecka, where both C's are Ch - if that makes sense. I think I will introduce this differing opinion tomorrow or maybe never....

    Hmm, maybe it depends which region of Poland you come from. My other half is from Opole in Silesia. What about yours? Perhaps they speak with different dialects, like in Germany. One German language for the north, and a slightly different one for the south
