Despite what some might think I was very happy with the win but we have a lot of work to do if we are going to live the dream of finishing 21st.

Some thoughts on a few of the players:-

Alnwick - first time I've seen him. Crap.

John Stones - cracking performance for a young lad. Pep needs to use him sparingly and wisely this coming season and develop him into the standard of player we need if we are going to progress. Or we could just flog him first chance we get.

Wiseman - whether it's against Championship opposition or teams at his natural level he still looks poor.

McNulty - another below average performance and not a captain. Still, he came and shook his fist at the fans at the the end so that will do for some.

Mellis - drifted in and out of the game but he needs to get match sharp. Showed some good touches though.

Perkins - still doing the headless chicken routine. Not developed any footballing ability over the summer.

Etuhu - disappointing. Looked disinterested to me and some of his passing was woeful.

Davies - another steady performance from him. Battled well and would be a twenty goal man with the right service.

Cywka - looked quality when he came on. Obviously very unfit though as he was knackered after ten minutes.

Good turn out from the Barnsley faithful (more than in the home ends?) and Pep should be grateful for the support he received 'cause he's really not earning it. Lovely pies. The lad in the kes t-shirt was doing my fecking box in though - was that anyone off here??

You need to read the reviews of the game on Rochdales website, majority saying Perkins was by far the best player on the field, just a coincidence?

I know everybody has their own opinions, and see things differently, but I just don't get it when folk knock Perkins. I agree with you, key player.

No, that's the Definitive View, other opinions are not relevant. I'm not bothered 'cos it saves me the trouble of having one.

I didn't need to go yesterday, all I had to do was wait 24 hours for your definitive view and it was just like being there. You should try sports journalism.

I am totally the opposite ! I just do not understand what he is supposed to bring to the team, yes he can run, more than just about any other p[layer I have seen at Oakwell, but he does not DO much else, for such a player his tackling is not very good, his passing is just sideways and he does not get into a scoring position very often. I am in the minority I know.

Slightly tongue in cheek title so no need to get upset.

David Perkins was 1 of the best players on the field yesterday

Made some great tackles during extra time, 1 in particular springs to mind where he ran the full width of the pitch to prevent a clear goal scoring opportunity.

I didn't realise players had to score a hat trick every game just to play well.

On another note, to say Hill promotes a short passing, possession style of play, has anyone else noticed how often foster knocks it long when in acres of space, often losing possession? Because I have and it annoys the f*ck out of me. I lost count how much he did it yesterday.

Thought Perkins improved when he switched to Left Back to cover when Bobby went in goal. The Mellis/Perkins combo in midfield never worked for me. Mellis was putting great balls through for his team mates when he had the opportunity but we weren't breaking their attacks up in midfield. For all his running and work rate Perkins rarely wins tackles in midfield and it's not Mellis' game either.

For long periods of the game we were lacking in the middle of the park.

Go on then show me where ANYONE has said that?
Is there a law been passed that I am not aware of, that says EVERYONE has to have the same opinions?
