I cannot get there, but if anyone is stuck for a question to ask, I'd be interested in his answer to the following...

'What area of his game does Bobby Hassell need to improve for him to be picked for the first XI'

    Thanks

I geneuinely think his treatment of Bobby Hassell could be Hill's undoing if he is not careful. If we continue to ship goals at the back, people are going to start beleiving it has something to do with not playing our best back 4 (personally I would choose Hassells experience over wisemans pace any day). Also, If he's still there at the end of the year, and he doesnt offer Hassell another year to get his 10th year / testimonial I suspect that there may be uproar - even if he drops down the pecking order I believe his loyalty earns him another year - we've carried many other players in the past. I beleive that Hill resents Hassells popularity and would love a good reason to drop him. Do it at your peril, Hill !

I can't disagree with any of that. I've said it several times that when fit Bobby has to be worthy of a place in the starting line up and especially at right back where he is a much better defender than Wiseman.
I agree about the contract extension too - nobody deserves a new contract more than Bobby. If I was the Don or PC I would be finding a job at the club for him once he has retired. A legend, an ambassador, an experienced player, all give him qualities that could be passed on to the young kids coming through.

I have a sneaky feeling that Hassell will last longer than Keith Hill at Barnsley FC.

Why should he be number one?
For me hes number 3 choice ATM.
John stones his number one choice right back and i would say Wisemans number 2.

Hassells at a age where hes not valueable for sale wheres the other 2 are 25 i think and 18. Both saleable assets.

Hes got know where near the talents of stones, both hassell and Hills called him a Rolls Royce of a defender.

I dont understand why hassell should be the first choice. Hes not done anything for this.

Stones is our the future. my thing would be stop singing about his gingeter hair and gey behind our most talented full back.

Sorry but Hassell is the experienced defender we need yet he's stuck on the bench. I just cannot warm to Wiseman. He offers nothing. Much prefer Hassell LB, CH or RB if Stones can't play. Don't want Stones burnt out by Christmas.

Wiseman will never be a saleable asset. Unless we need to buy some more paper for the office fax machine.

Have to agree whilst occasional runs forward look impressive,I have yet to be convinced anything productive results, and tbh I think Wiseman is a defensive liability, his **** up for Rochdales first goal was probably the kind of thing we can look forward to seeing if he is selected on a regular basis. No better than Mceveley....just cheaper.

Hehe HT. I wonder why you get so much stick, but as i tend not to read your posts, i dont know if your response is a wind up.

My 10 yearold may be the 'future' - should we stick in the team now? Stones should get his time, but not yet.

Should we play a crap player cos he may be worth more ? Why not play all the youngsters - doesnt matter if they take us to league 2 cos they'll be 'valueable for sale'

Hassell is far more composed than anyone else in the back 4. The crowd appear more relaxed when he is on the pitch = less grief directed at the players. I doubt Stones will be able to play to a high level week in, week out. I wasnt that impressed with him at rotherham. Hassell should start, and Stones should play the bit-part, and even then i'd protect him from playing when we're getting hammered to protect him from the vitriol.

I also beleive that Hassell will outlast Hill

Why shouldnt he play at right back. Stones was listed our best player by many at spotland. The lads classed i read a former barnsley player say the other day.

With all respect, your sons not been labeled the future of barnsley fc.

    Just calm down.
Bobbys done well but hes not the perfect player.

Thanks for the calming words. Probably a bad analogy.
Ok so Bobbys not a perfect player.
    Is Stones ?
How many competitve minutes has he played - 53 last season, plus a 'friendly' against a L2 side. And from this you deduce he is the better player ? We are not in the future HT, we are in the here and now. We all knew that Butterfield was special, but start him, and he often went MIA. You honestly beleive the Stones is ready to start, and have the Ponty end baying for his blood if things go wrong. I think he needs slowly introducing. I bet you were brought up on tough love.

I can now see how you antagonise so many people

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. can you jump in your de lorean and bring back the future Stones, cos we need him now, not in 5 years.

I saw him against rotherham, and didnt think he was a good player. He wasnt bad, but he didnt pull up any trees, and that was against a L2 strikeforce including Odejayi

Jesus. We're on about this season. Stones is finding his feet - Hill said after saturday he needed time to be allowed to develop and that doesn't mean him playing every game.

In that context it's either Hassell or Wiseman as first choice under normal circumstances and Stones playing as and when.

In a season or two it could well be Stones as a permanent fixture. appreciating Hassell doesn't equal dissing Stones. Unfortunately you aren't bright enough to grasp that simple concept and so you're off denigrating Hassell and making out Stones is Roberto Carlos.

I dont think, i know hes a better player.
Watch the comments of the squad, they dont see any problems with stones.

    Listen to Hill on player.
