This wasn't the case when i was younger, yes there was always some who wanted something for nothing that has always been the situation whether it be dole cheats or landowners conning govt's for imaginary subsidies. dole cheats get the most publicity from the tory press and are more visible to attract the critisism. but the reason there are so many of them is because of the tory policies in the past no one can convince me this would have been the case if employment was more accessible. tories kicked this town and created this so called underclass, labour didn't tackle the problem which was a big mistake granted but make no bones this is a tory legacy for daring to be a labour supporting town. the only way out of this is by creating jobs and then making them go to work or then face benefit restrictions. not by the tory way and subjecting them to no hope or prospects and then including other categories of benefits such as the genuine sick and disabled which is absolutely despicable imho
oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent and failed so writes something totally stupid. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent If you feel that strongly, become a politician and change the system. Change the world. Instead of repeatedly arguing the toss on a football forum over old arguments and a system that will never suit you or serve you in the way that you wish. So stop wasting your time trying to change the system and change your life to make the system suit you. That's what I did.
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent But just maybe its you that went wrong! You moved to Toblerone Country, the place where no-one takes a side.
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent what so you can only change the system by becoming a politician??? i want to share my views with likeminded, indifferent and opposing forumites in a thread that was started for this reason. if you don't want to read it why click on the feckin thread
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent That's generally the way that you make a difference in politics.
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent don't think the suffragettes were politicians or johanna lumley or millions of others that i can't be arsed to mention
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent Joanna Lumley has the power of media exposure on her side. You don't. The Suffragettes went to great extremes to get their point across. You're posting on a footy forum. I don't know the other "millions" that you're referring to. Anyway, I'm not knocking your views, or that of the OP. It's just the millionth (approximately) thread on here with lefties knocking righties and vice versa. In my opinon it's dull. Surely I'm entitled to that opinion.
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent you do realise you are now doing exactly what you came on here to try and ridicule.
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent I'm too tired to debate. I've had a long day fixing cuckoo clocks and eating Toblerone. Anyway, my initial 'post' wasn't intended to be offensive, it was meant slightly tongue in cheek. Fact is I don't care enough about Labour, Conservative or Liberals to get all emotional about it like you do.
Re: oh no not another thread troll trying to be intelligent if democracy was taken away from you and a dictatorship came to power you'd change your tune, its people that do care thats keeping you indifferent with no consequences to pay. i'd also suggest if you think political threads are boring don't enter. simples
Sorry Mark but you missed the point of my post; I was in no way trying to criticise Barnsley or the majority of people, famous or anonymous, that live here. My point was that there is a social underclass in this country that would do evetything to avoid work even if there were enough jobs to go round. They are out in force in the town on a daily basis and I used Barnsley as an example for no other reason than I live here. I do have a problem with these people, equally I have a problem with tax avoidance by the rich and by business. I know the Tories well enough to not be taken in by their propaganda but I also know that Labour are no better since they took the centre ground and became new Labour. It is my humble opinion that all political parties are made up of self interested egotistical career spivs who no longer serve any purpose for the honest hard working man (or woman) in this once great country of ours.
I went to Mexborough Comp and I've got a degree and have always worked in a job which required a degree, go figure.
It's not just Labour towns who have this social underclass though, there are lots of Tory supporting towns that have the same problem with chavs and the something for nothing culture. Regardless of what the old hag Thatcher said this is a society problem but it will take a political solution to start to get it under control and this will take a generation perhaps longer.
