Brian Potter and Funnyfella have covered a lot of the items discussed. I found Hilcroft Committed - to the job in hand at BFC and how they are changing the emphasis on training and properly coaching the academy kids into how football works for their and hopefully our future Realistic - in how the football world has and is ever changing and where our " pitch is just now Frustrated - at how the clubs coming down from the prem have the 4 year payment of 8 mill which in the way the championship is this season puts BFC at a massive disadvantage in competing with the £`s Totally understanding - at how the fans felt at the collapse after mid Jan and went a long way in explaining what was and what went wrong : it had a massibve effect on both of them Knowledgable - in whats happening in the underbelly of football - Ie transfer fees, what agents hawk their clients ( players ) about, indications of clubs we can do business with : flitcroft has in depth knowledge of prem " startlets " that will be available for loans and he indicated ( chat after ) that movement could occur when the prem squads are announced. Humourous - if anyone doesnt like hill`s one liners -so be it - he says he has mellowed and has become slighlty wary of post match questions. Didnt steer away from any question. HOWEVER the disappointment was the 120 or so folk who went along didnt contain a number of folk that come on here and " contribute " The opportunity was there to go along and put your questions to the manager and David Flitcroft : whats up lads - shy in public ? Round 2 this week - meeting with Mr Rowing : Im sure Gally has loads of your questions on suggestions to benefit the club.
Why bother going?..... sounds like you did not get to know owt........ they are only going to defend their own positions...it's only natural which is fair enough. However if you wanna waste time and money listening to it thats your perogative also....same applies to 'the audience with the don'. Sounds like just a string of excuses...... talking the talk however is not walking the walk........results on the pitch is the only thing that matters. We could have the best run club in the world, which it clearly is not by the way .... but even that would be no good if we were bottom of the league. hth
obviously the future of BFC is at the forefront of your thoughts or are you just a wind up merchant ? Constructive or destructive ? which are you ? whoever you are you seem an intelligant bloke so why not use that in a positive way and tell you own ideas on how you would like to see the club improve in the areas you feel BFC arent good with. Yes I agree the results on the pitch are the things that really matter but its a big hard old world the football world at the minute and BFC need to be in there and maintain the level we are at in season 2012/2013
Well Mr B Igdaddycool..... i do applaud yours and others dedication to the club, I really do. I do post daft stuff at times I agree but you have gotta have a giggle in life and I do admit to liking a bet which most probably has cost me thousands and thousands since i was 17 but i would have only have spent it on summat else if i had not had a bet i suppose. Seriously though I do feel the club is run pretty poorly and probably has been for years now. I have followed em since mi dad took me at the age of ten and have some great memories. Life has changed now and the club is well down the pecking order behind family friends etc in my priorities. Football is too expensive, the players get too much blah blah blah but i still love the game (actually enjoyed the wendy game last night - aprt from the bar stewards winning!). What we must remember though is that The Don and Hillcroft are simply employees and not lifelong fans of the club..... they get paid a wage and once that stops they will be off darn the road never to gve BFC a thought ever again probably. The fact remains that all three of em are not exactly pulling any trees up in the results / running of the club department and at 'fan nights' like last night and 'An audience with The Don', they are simply there to make themselves look good. Of course they are not going to admit their failures so that is why i may be cynical in saying 'whats the point?'. Produce the results on the field and run the club better (if they need fans to tell them how, they shouldn't be in the job in the first place) and there would be no need for all this nonsense. Hope this helps

Re: Bob the sage What is this Hilcroft b*ll*cks? The manager's name is Hill.......that's even easier to type as well!
youre a decent bloke springvale red ( ive been on the pensitone reds bus ) certainly not aimed at you - we are awash with opioniated " fans " who when they have a chance to put a decent point over in an open forum still cant be bothered to get off their ass - go along - they might just even enjoy themselves - meet a few folk and you never know go again
I fail to see how any meeting between fans and management is pointless - it's great that Hill and Flitcroft took time out to speak to some of our supporters.
A lot of what you said there may or may not be correct, but at least it's reasoned and thought through.....isn't it time to stop the 'daft' posts....they're not really a giggle anymore.
journo and sad brewer are correct : nowt wrong with having a lively forum and theres nowt wrong with the folk that contribute to the forum going to the meetings that come up and express their views or ask THEIR QUESTION. Negative keyboard warriors do my head in - look on the bright side of live and come along and express your views in person - next time there a meet I have 3 seats in my car for anyone that want to come. OH lets not even bring up the 125 BFC dinner on the 17th September 2012 that could be a good night
