Who would you have? Here's my starter for 10. Keith Moon on drums, John Entwistle on bass, Freddie Mercury Janis Joplin vocals and Jimi Hendrix.

To me anyone from The Who have nothing to do with rock. They started MOD music.

MOD was never a musical style. The Who were a rock n roll band band as were the Kinks, Small Faces, Pretty Things etc. MOD was about the clothes, haircuts and the lifestyle. It had it's bands but they were not going out to produce a musical style. You can argue that became a sound of sorts but the Beatles were always one step ahead. The Who were just a band who the Mods liked because they looked different, but they still played old rock n roll standards and had long hair by 1968. Stuff like My Generation, Kids Are Alright became a soundtrack for that culture but they were just songs, Townsend said as much. If it wasn't for Quadropheonia I doubt they'd be thought any more Mod than anyone else. Just the way I see it.

Any road, stand by for some completely incompatible supergroups of dead uns.

I don't think Hendrix does complementing though. You be better off with Duane Allman, trust me.
