    Totally agree with Keith Moon and John Entwistle. Moon is the best drummer of all time.

    my best drummer of all time is still alive n kickin', Neil Peart from Rush..not seen many as good as him..never saw keith moon,but seen all t'others mentioned.

    Funny you should say that because this thread reminded me of a lad who was in my platoon in the Army who used to have a healthy Moon v Peart debate with me. I never saw Moon live, he died when I was a young un but I've seen enough footage and heard enough music by The Who to be convinced he is the greatest ever.

    Zak Starkey (Ringo's son) is bloody good too. I've seen him live with The Who twice and he is good.

    Most flamboyant show-off to ever own a drum kit yes, but greatest drummer...? errrrrrrmmmm....naaah. I wouldn't want to be in a band with Keith Moon anyway - he doesn't listen to the song he's supposed to be playing, then you wake up to find your Rolls Royce in the swimming pool. Well out of that, I tell thi.

    Clem Burke for me if we're talking flash drummers. Only he's not dead.

    Don't get me wrong he is a fantastic drummer, probably the third best of all time IMO but I think Moon just shades it. Of course that could be because I am biased towards The Who but either way Peart, Moon and Bonham were / are brilliant drummers.

    Moon lost his timing and his ability faded from the mid 70's but this was down to drink and drugs that ultimately killed him. Before this he was the ultimate rock drummer and the ultimate rock showman.
