Enjoyed misen. Always interesting to get the clubs point of view. My main point last night was that everyone understands the difference in finance but it's about how they communicate back to us - it's alright saying 'every other club does it' but, unfortunately, we're not every other club so we might need to think slightly differently. Don't doubt for a second that they all work their b@llacks off, though.
All of the above. Put forward a few suggestions about opening up Preedy's to more people on match day and as Gally says looking to open a section of Exec Area for beers/meals before/after game. Awaiting a decision RE Ponty Said they've approached most businesses in and around the area and always looking to get more businesses involved.
Step in the right direction then. I think opening the executive area up would be better than opening Preedy's as Preedy's is a bit ****, unless they give it a bit of a facelift which I can't imagine would happen. Thanks for the info by the way.
Seems both will be available - Preedy's will remain but looking at how we can get more people in and earlier. The Exec bit was more for meals and something a little different. Not sure the exact details but said beer, meals etc would be reasonable (tenner a meal was mentioned).
Seems like it was a good PR exercise with some fans fears being allayed, the club being chivvied along a bit with regard to some subjects/ideas and fans knowing that there voice is being heard, which is all that fans can ask. More of the same sounds good too. A step nearer stronger together with more input from more fans than just the money. If you have an idea and you get the reason why it wont work or it is not possible to implement then you shut up about it and move on. The reasons were missing and points were just being repeated over and over again on here.
Don said it was constructive from his point of view and got some good feedback and suggestions out of it and wants to do it every three months. Dyson suggested an idea around a squad builder type fund to buy a player which was a good idea especially as it could use Barnsley Player as a way of doing this. Building on that it was suggested a fund for buying a new scoreboard. Don somewhat threw down the gauntlet to us to come up with a plan / ideas to do this. He was also open to help from fans to help building new commercial links with local companies and helping providing new revenue to the club.
"Don somewhat threw down the gauntlet to us to come up with a plan / ideas to do this." I have to say that troubles me a bit. Is it really down to the fans to do something like this?
Good news, its nice to have a little insight to what is going on. Step in reight direction. Information is key or is it clean sheets.
That was Dyson? The guy sat at the back, speaking very eloquently, making constructive comments, asking intelligent questions and looking like the lad who played Robin Hood on TV? <img src ="http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/content/images/2007/09/27/robin_02_343x470.jpg">
It's not, but it feels more like a fan's campaign/fund than the club saying 'give us £100k for a new scoreboard 'cos we're skint but we'd really like one'
