Giraldo 7 - flapped a few times at corners and crosses, but did what was needed
Stones 9 - early scares, but then had Emnes in his pocket, outstanding. Would be 10 but don't want to get carried away!
Foster 8 - distribution is a problem, but defended very well.
Wiseman 8 - when I saw the team sheet I feared for us with Scott at centre half. Composed, assured did nothing wrong. And saved us a point with that last minute tackle.
Golbourne - 8 not played much pre - season, wow, never showed full of energy.
Cywka - 8 really enjoyed watching this guy. Tricks, kept the ball, and distributed well. Could be a top player.
Mellis- 7 kept the ball moving well, very good link to the strikers
Perkins - 8 everywhere, sums him up really
Done - 6 was getting going until taken out
Harewood - 7 held up the ball well at times, lacking match fitness.
Davies - 9 handful all afternoon, took his goal well, but the way he dominated Woodgate the 2nd half shows us what a force he could be. Immense.
Etuhu - 7 worked hard, bu tired 2nd half
Dawson - 8 typified the spirit and determination of all the players, when he came on.
Hassell - 9 held the line well for the 5 minutes plus he was stuck waiting to come on, when the ball wouldn't go out lol.

Thank you everyone concerned at Barnsley FC for a wonderful afternoons entertainment.

Spot on there, would agree with every one of those assessments. Thought Wiseman playing the junior role to Foster really seemed to make him play better, was much more commanding than usually, distribution didn't change though, always been a bit gash.
How long left on Davies contract? Need to get him signed longer, that was a million pound+ performance today, a few more of those and someone like Leicester will come knocking for sure.

Absolutely love him holding off Woodgate, and knocking him all over. Keep it going Craig lad.

Would just about agree with that, although I thought Goldbourne and Stones were both 9's and I did pick Goldbourne as MofM, he didn't put a foot wrong all game. Wasn't it great to have 2 good full backs in the team.

I'd have given them both 9 as well - think I'd have given Gonzales an 8 too - I thought he had a good game

2 good full backs and 2 good strikers - that was a pleasant surprise today

I didn't see him come on either. Saw him stood there waiting for ages but can't remember him coming on. Sir Bob still gets a 9 though for being Sir Bob.

I never said Hassell came on. I wrote he held the line well. Indicating he was stuck there waiting to come on!

I thought Bobby was coming on to give Stones a standing ovation, the ball went out a few times but Hill decided against putting him on, probably cause Stones had Emnes in his pocket and they were pressuring towards the end.
