Don't get to that many games so I'll leave the match reports to people who can do it better. But couldn't resist tapping out a few thoughts.

    1. I thought Wolves were obviously a talented side, but in my opinion they were there for the taking. We had quite a bit of possession and looked OK at times - a goal in our good spell after half time and it could all have turned out differently.

    2. Poor all round for the goals. I can't remember the last time I saw Barnsley concede a goal which was borne out of real skill from the opposition, and didn't stem from us giving the ball or forgetting to mark.

    3. Play to the ****ing whistle. I don't care how offside you think he is, don't stand there like a scarecrow with your arm in the air while he nods home.

    BUT...

    4. We looked OK, I thought. Not brilliant by any means, and we still can't hold onto the ball as much as our style of play demands we should be able to. But - apart from a short spell after we'd conceded - the heads didn't really go down, we kept battling and we gave them a few scares. It's not very polished, and it won't often work when we're away at good teams, but Wolves aren't the kind of team we need to be beating this season. We'll be OK.

    5. Next time I hear a racist chant I'm going to call the stewards over. Having kids singing 'Town full of pakis' next to me really ruins my enjoyment of the game, and makes Barnsley look like a backwards town full of neanderthals. Thankfully they did get a few people telling them to shut up and a lot more dirty looks, but I've got no doubt it's going to rear its ugly head again at Leicester - as usual. If there's a steward nearby I'm going to try and get anybody responsible kicked out.

As I say, I don't get to as many games as most so most of this is probably nonsense. But there you have it.

Thats what i said, shouldn't have stopped just because it looked offside.

A bit more luck in the first half or just after and we would have been at least 1-1

Thanks. It's good to read the balanced view of somebody who went to the game. Agree about the chanting btw.

I agree with that. Looked okay at times but Wolves were comfortable winners in the end.

Perkins MotM for me. Nipped in and broke up play numerous times. Twisted and turned out of trouble before starting off attacks. Could have got another assist similar to Saturdays had Davies not took an extra touch before falling over the keepers leg looking for a penalty.

I'd forgotten about that! Didn't even give it a go - just sidestepped away from the ball and fell over.
