    Forgot about Morecambe. My Grandparents retired to Poole (lovely place) then for some inexplicable reason they decided to move to Morecambe.

    I think the highlight was the polo tower.

    That must've been when it was in its 'heyday'...

    I went last year as Morecambe was the starting point for a coast to coast bike ride and it was like a ghost town. Very few places remained open. The beach was just mud. The streets were empty, and the bars that were open on the evening we stayed were reminiscent of something out of Shameless.

    The 'Polo tower' of which you mentioned, was smack dab in the middle of an old, now defunct 'amusement park'.

    It was said that the speed we started the bike ride the following morning was phenomenal for mere amateurs - my new found inspiration was to get my legs going as quickly as possible to get the hell out of Morecambe.
