    Hodges, Parkin....
    getting pumped by Grimsby....
0-0 away at Port Vale being one of the worst games I'd ever seen...
0-0 away at Boundary Park where some stupid reds "supporting" **** told me and my mate to shut up cos we were singing "red army" when every other ****er was silent and couldn't be arsed...
    the stupid sacking of Gudjon...
our lovely mayors involvement with the club..
watching utter dross every week and thinking it was nice when we actually won a game even though it was a case of they were just shitter than us...

i don't wanna go back there, i'll give every drop of blood and sweat from the stands to make sure we don't go back there. I just want the players to display that same commitment. If we do go down we have to go down fighting but I think if we fight enough we'll stay up

Good post mate, they were some bad bad days and it wasn't like we were just ****,the opposition was **** too which just made for a bad game of football every week!
As long as we are still in the championship I'll be happy, even if it does mean fighting relegation every year.At least we still see good football, although it's often not us playing it!

We've spent more years in this Divison than any other club, and out darkest moments were in the 60s and 70s when we yoyoed between League Dision Three and Four. People need to get a grip: too many youngsters on this board who only remember the good days, not those dark days of 50+ years ago, when we thought the heights of League Dision Two were beyond us.

You would have loved the old fourth division then - now that was grim

i'll be happy that we're in the championship but maybe being a tyke for so long has just dampened my ambitions. I'd love us to have a long term plan where we grow our own talent, get money in to the club then develop into a premier league club. I just don't think we as a club have that plan unfortunately although I think Hill and flitcroft actually do

My point is , we used to punch above our weight, no wit is money and bloody Sky that dictate matters.

After 70 plus years in this division, more than anyone else I'd say in the past we were not punching above our weight but now I fear you are right.

It's all down to money. It is starting to stop being a sport in the professional game. Sorry to say I have no interest whatsoever in the Premiership, and having supported Barnsley, since we beat QPR 7 - 0 in 1950, I am getting totally disillusioned with the game.

Me too. Barnsley represent the last shred of interest I have in football. If Barnsley went bust I could honestly say I would never watch another professional game in my life. I despise Sky, the premier league, the money, the greedy players and everything else that the game has come to represent over the last 20 years or so.

    Love Barnsley, hate football.

I agree with both of you. Actually if it wasn't for our pre match routine I don't think I'd be bothering any way any more.

Like it. I wonder how many blokes would nod their head in agreement to this.
