My first answer would be yes but with any player or manager if they perform well they jump ship to the brighter light or they are pushed out when things go sour. How small clubs can plan long term on the field when loyalty no longer exists throughout football. The enjoyment of the game is getting lost unless you have a mega bucks owner which is very sad.

Sorry mate. I made it bold so you could see the statement I was alluding to.

I think you are misguided. The leagues are all made up in the same way. You have teams that have and teams that have not. If you think our budget is any different relatively speaking to the ones of the past then again I feel that is wrong.

If you simplify by saying all the supposed best players had the choice they will always go to the supposed top 6 clubs. This has always happened with the same bunch of players year on year, obviously the players names change era by era. Every year it is the same.

A few teams at the top with more money and bigger player pull and a group in the middle who have less money and less pull and the ones at the bottom with no money and have to wheel and deal. I agree though that money is spoiling football and the general working class fan is disenfranchised and further away from their idols than ever but the way that leagues are set up and made are the same and I cant see that ever changing.

My point is I want us to become the next Blackpool. The next Burnley. The next Wigan who have less money than all the others around them, but are well run and have positive people at the touchpoints that fans engage with.

You never know where we might end up.

We're just content with not being the next Bradford City. That will do for most on here and for the people in charge.

I agree with much of what you say, but a key difference for me is that there are clubs above us now who have had substantial investment in them, who going back between 10-20 years were financially no bigger than us or least not by so much, hence more of league is 'wealthy' or least are spending money, whether theirs or not.

Examples: Fulham, Wigan, Reading, Brighton, Swansea, arguably QPR, even Huddersfield coming up on the rails in that regard; but also most of the teams that have been to the Premier League in the last 5-10 years and got all the cash and parachute payments from it and are now well off (likes of Pompey accepted) - eg Blackpool, Burnley, Wolves, Birmingham, Hull, Derby etc etc.

Hence I think we have fallen much further down the financial pecking order over the last 10 years. If you disagree, that's fine.

I hope, as you do, that we can do a Blackpool or a Burnley, but it's becoming increasingly harder.

Yes its partly to do with that..........but theres more to it than that
An earlier thread seemed to have everybody having a dig because I said Keeeflicker is the best in my lifetime.
One had a go and of course the rest of the sheep followed........its the same mentality that you see in playground bullys.......one starts so the rest follow because they havn't got two brain cells to rub together.
This type of person votes for the political party that the Sun Newspaper tells them to vote for.

So the earlier thread had a list of people on here that wanted to see Keeflicker kicked out......this thread was started to see if thats actually the opinion of the rest of the people on here. It was also an attempt to flush these thick b@stards out...which it has done e.g. see Conan.

Nudger if you think that Keith Hill is the best manager in your life time then I'm afraid it is you who is the thick b'stard and it's simple as that really.

Surely you can't expect to post something as controversial as that and nobody pick up on it, because I for one would say he's nowhere near the best in my lifetime!

As I said the other day...

In all my time watching the reds I can't remember a manager who has not delivered results and yet seems to have the majority of fans behind him.
    Strange times.

And looking at this thread just confirms it.
