Not far off what you'd expect to pay in that area. You should have bought summat decent then you wouldn't feel as conned!
I worked down there during the Olympics was paying £3 80 for bitter until we fond weatherspoons and then it was err a lot less lol.
If you want a cheap pint (and an old school atmosphere) you can't go wrong with a Sam Smith's pub and there's quite a few in central London if memory serves.
£4.80 is really expensive, even in the city. Fullers pubs are more expensive than most, but that's extortionate!
Next time just take a short stroll up to The Globe - would have been about £3.85 in there. Or Ye Olde Watling towards St Pauls, the same.
I was in Enfield (outer London) earlier today for a meeting and went for a pint with a colleague afterwards. I was really surprised when I was asked for £5.20 for two pints of Carlsberg.
More locally I paid nearly £4 for a pint of Carlsberg at Tankersley Manor last week and it was crap. Felt proper robbed!
If we're on a tommy topper of beer prices l paid 20 euros for a Budweiser in Amnesia Ibiza in 2010, that's why everyone's of their face in there!
I'd pay 7 pound a pint to sit and watch good quality guff all day. I'm now minted. And having a mid life crisis.
