Ok we were peed off last week werent we, after our dreadful thrashing down on the Saarf coast. But they (Brighton) then went and scored 3 and won at Burnley at the weekend, so what do we think about this result ? Does this put our result there into a little more perspective ? Well for me no it doesnt, it doesnt excuse our 5 goal collapse and I still dont think that Brighton will be a promotion challenger. And Id be surprised if they can keep hold of Craig Mac Smith for the whole season. Credit to us though, for taking Bristol apart (even with 10 men) and winning straight after that 5 goal thrasher.
I'll be shot down in flames here, but its my opinion and this place is all about opinions if others agree or not, We're missing David Perkins badly, and judging by the team against Bristol, Hill & Flicker think the same that's why we had Bobby in centre midfield last week, just to sure things up, and cut out danger at the source, looking at the standard of player both Wolves and Brighton have in the wide positions, if you allow the centre midfielder's time on the ball to pick them out your always going to be in trouble, as i say looking at the team on Saturday its lesson learnt, from now on if Perkins is out we need 2 people in there doing his job
Pitch isn't big enough for two David Perkinses. They'd inevitably bump into each other and erm, get injured.
Brighton finished in 10th last season and weren't they in play-off contention for most of the season. I think they only dropped out of it in the last couple of months. It would not be too surprising to see them up there again.
They'll go up this season or next. They're onto something good. I got the same feeling I had when we were knocking on the Premiership door.
Why was it then that they hadnt even scored before that game against us. Were we just unlucky on the day or just plain awful ? Brighton wont go up this (or even next) season, simple as that!!
