    A China plate, bowl and cup set is always a good shout, Peter Rabbit or bunnykins. Or a stool engraved with their name and d.o.b.

    Depends how close they are really. If not that close anything practical but if its someone important then something they can use and keep, or is personalised, is ideal I reckon.

    Department stores are usually a pretty good place to find special christening gifts like the plate sets etc, unless there's any little independent places near you.
