Disagree. Coldplay are the biggest band to come out of the UK in recent years. Each and everyone of their songs have been a fitting tribute to what has been an amazing Olympic and Paralympic games. Plus they know how to put on a great show.

Agree that they're not everyones cup of tea, however you could put that argument across to every other act they would have got.

Sorry , but I cant agree with you. Coldplay are in my opinion rather boring and Chris Martin is such an insipid singer !!!

Like or loath their music they have put on a fantastically humble ceremony and have done us proud.
Some of the so called superstars could learn a thing or 2 from tonights proceedings

Agreed. I think I like one or two of their songs but I like them in the way that I like some of Dido's songs, decent background music but nothing else. I don't dislike them or hate them but I do think they're a bit dull and boring. What I really don't understand is why they are being thrust down our throats at every opportunity. Oh its the jubilee, best get coldplay on, olympics? someone call coldplay. paralympics? Give them a call. It rained on a tuesday? Get Chris Martin on the BBC to sing a song about it. It's pretty pathetic in my opinion and shows the country in a poor light.

They didn't play the Olympics, and they didn't play the festival at Buckingham Palace for the Jubilee did they?

Not keen on Jay Z though. Coldplay didn't perform at the jubilee by the way.

They turned down the Olympics to do the Paralympics closing ceremony. And I can't think of any other thing apart from Live 8 they played? Not relay thrusted down our throats....

Not sure to be honest, I try to avoid them at all costs because they bore me but it just appears that they're playing every public event at the moment.

Bit unfair mate, they haven't played two of the three big events you mentioned in your original post.

Now, if you were talking about Paul Macca I'd back you up!

I take it back then, it just seemed like they'd been doing everything, obviously not. I must just imagine a lot of stuff (Scott Wiseman did piss on the war memorial outside the town hall right?)

If McCartney was a dog he'd have been on a one way trip to the vets a long time ago.
