    Ayup.

T'other half's laptop wasn't working right, not opening Office Files wi' Word or Excel as default. Knight in shining armour here sez 'ayup love, dunt thee worry thi pretty little head abart it, I'll fix it'.

Reset all default programs, didn't work.
Quick search online sez the's probably a couple of versions of Office on there, so I uninstall. Try reinstalling, product key not valid.

Nar she's got work termorra, planning to do and no laptop. She's gonna rip mi balls off. So can anyone help?

    Cheers, sithi.

Done that before. Search for a product key finder, plenty of free ones that will do the job. I think it's called magical jelly bean or somat the one I used.

If you've deleted all the Office installations, you're up the creek.

Try installing openoffice. It will work with all office programs (allegedly), so at least she can get some work done.

Chances are that if she has a fairly new laptop, then its a pre-installed cut down version of Office (just Word and Excel) are on, and if you delete them, you can't re-install.

Sorry can't be of more help.

System restore it ? Would that work? Find it in accessories , system folder. Choose a restore point from a few days ago

Or if you have a product key but it won't accept it, look for a product key generator. Might have to get one through a torrent though.

    Re: Install Open Office

Yeah I concur with others, try system restore to go back a week or so, if you can't then OpenOffice should be more than enough to put her on until you can make arrangements to get MS Office back on

I once worked with someone who used the exact same line on the (female) head of Legal Services at Leeds Council during a support call. It was one of several sites he was banned from for general incompetence. :)

Lots of people have recommended Open Office, but I believe that the developers of that are actually now involved with Libre Office and that is now the recommended free office suite.
