A bit irritated tonight . . .

About the amount of negativity from some places.

I just don't see how people can slag the team off if they a: weren't there, or b: haven't watched it on player.

We didn't play badly tonight. In fact one of the best performances away this calendar year IMO. Granted we need to start taking our chances, but we didn't particularly defend badly tonight. The 300 that went to Brighton truly know what bad defending looks like. We dominated the first half and missed two good chances, Mellis early on and Davies. The Rhodes goal was well taken, but that's what 8 million quid buys. Simple.

Can't really comment on he second goal as it was at the other end. Looked scrappy.

They were better second half. But as on Saturday, we battled and more or less matched a "superior" team. The difference for me came in the last 20 mins. Firstly, Mellis tired. When he stops playing, so do we. He was excellent for 70-75 mins.

Secondly. I have to question Hill's decision to replace Davies and Dagnall with Harewood and Etuhu. Dagnall especially put a good shift in and closed defenders down. When he went off we stopped doing this and they weren't under any pressure in their own half.

Still, I'm upbeat, play like that every week and we should be ok.

I have to have one moan. . . . Harewood. Can anyone tell me why we signed him? What did he contribute in the 20 mins or so he was on the pitch, apart from an inability to jump and a laughable attempt at a shot when the defender passed the ball to him on the corner of the box?
